Sodaconstructor. "Looking at the fluid, lifelike way these creatures walk and roll and slink across the screen you might think that there must be some very complicated stuff going on behind the scenes. well fear not, it's actually very simple. it only looks complicated because lots of simple bits are working together." Be sure to stop at the sodazoo to see others' creations.

Aw crap. Never mind. I swear the first search didn't work. Flagged.

Is it still a double after four years? Probably. Still cool, all the same. I remember playing with this contraption way back when and thinking it (at the time) truly was the best of the web.

Also sodarace. This is worth a re-visit.

I have no idea how these people get there cats wedged in their scanners, or why.

In the meanwhile, I would like to commend you on your name, AstroGuy.

Sweet. I wasn't here four years ago. It's new to me.

I wasn't, either, but I was using the interweb back then. This was a meme of the highest caliber.

That link was best of the web 4 years ago and is still amongst the best of the web now!

In fact... it's better now. I haven't been to sodaconstructor since it was first posted and it seems so much faster now (probably my new computer and super fast broadband)... cheers!

This has been in my bookmarks since the original post. I still can't make anything that actually walks.

But were you on the planet? Everything's new for someone, somewhere.

It's new to me, and now it's going to eat my entire day. And I will be secretly glad.

Should there be a staute of limitations on double posts? I like it this time around, too.

Just like me. I had some fun trying, though.

There's also this real-life Sodaconstructor-like link like from 3+ years ago.

Ah, I remember this from years ago, but I gotta give you props for reminding me of it.

I loved it years ago, and I actually thought about it yesterday and decided to find it again soon. Thanks for saving me from having to search, and for creeping me out by reading my thoughts.

There is:
You can avoid double posting by reading these [suggestions]. Generally:

* One year is the statute of limitations for an identical link.
* At least a couple of months for specific topics.
* Within one week, you're asking for it.
* On the same front page, travel out of the country. Quickly.

By the way, are there any tips for the mechanically ungifted? I read the little tutorial thing but my simple multi-legged creature still seems to be walking against itself.

Thanks for posting this! I have been trying to find this link for the last five years. Seriously. This rocks!

Aha! I used to have this bookmarked from back in the day when it was fresh and new... but over the course of crashes, reinstallations, new machines, etc. I managed to lose it... and completely forget what the site was!

Fun times again - thanks AstroGuy!
