Yet another Flash puzzle game: Shift. Very beautiful, with low-key music.

I understand that it was originally at whitekiwi.net, but they appear to have shut down.

I haven't played it to the conclusion, but it reminds me a bit of Samorost.

Ahh... the BEST low-key music I might add.

Nothing beats Boards of Canada.

that was a wonderful little experience, thank you for that link.

Great little thing. Very like Samorost, but not as good. Look out for the Polyphonic Spree one.

All that and all i get is a 'thanks for playing'? Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

it's nice, but what do i do on level 2 with the ladybugs and petals?
posted by amberglow at 2:57 PM on January 10, 2006

is this one of those outside the box puzzles? the song has six notes but i can only click on 5 of the glowing note things.

am i a retard? what the hell am i missing?

wait.. maybe... level 2... is like, a place inside of each of us, created by our teamwork. No, wait, they said there'd be ladybugs and petals.

g-d help me, i even tried using the shift key.

If you just right-click and go to play you can watch it like a short film.

Yeah. Or, in other words, no.

I could swear I'd seen this here before, but just try searching for "shift" and "flash." A good game, although the input is a little tricky.

If I was ever to get lethal injection, the gas chamber or the firing squad, my last request would be to have BOC playing while I died.

I highly doubt they play anything so nice at the detainees at gitmo though.

Samorost had a quirky little narrative. This had a bug and pretty colours, and lots of irritating trial-and-error, and Boards of Canada. But even Boards of Canada can't redeem a total lack of purpose or point.

Little wonder whitekiwi's gone.

Spoiler

On the second level there is a flower in the bottom right corner of the screen. When you click on it you can see five colors obscured by some seedling things. Use those to "program the flower on the left part of the screen.

The bug has a purpose AND a point. We just never get to be let on to his secret.

Help! I'm stuck at the start of level 2 with my guy treading water in the rain.

hydrophonic and divabot -- if you look to the center, you should notice a faint glow.

Did the game fuck up anybody else's mouse? Mine's acting funny.

I think I broke it. It doesn't do anything except when I click on the little guy he purrs and squeals. It's very pretty and BOC is fantastic (Check out Ulrich Schnauss latest on Domino Records along the same lines and fantastic!!). Another thing is that this game makes feel like what it must be like to be burned out from too much extasy.

Thanks Gator! I turned my monitor's brightness up and voila.

Wait, so which song from which level is by Boards of Canada? I like the very first song from the beginning...
