So much has been said about Jack Thompson the anti-video game crusader. But now someone has called out his video game challenge hoping to win $10,000 (for charity) making, "a game so gory, so brutal, so devoid of logic and morals that it would make Postal 2 seem like Ms. Pacman. A game so terrible, so repulsive, that a 60-year old serial killer squeezed out his first tear in 40 years when he played the beta. The BETA.". I know they have won my heart *sniff*

Seriously?
Done and done. In October.
And Penny-Arcade donated the money in his name to another charity thing. In October.

Yes, but the 10k challenge was for a game in 2006. And this one is really funny and not bad to play.

Stupid.

Sure, but can you urinate at will in that game? That was one of the more endearing aspects of Postal 2!

clevershark: were you being sarcastic? ... because one of the aspects of the game is... urinating at will.

Seriously, this is a well made arcade shooter.

It's actually something you need as part of the action :-) If you should happen to be on fire, for example, you can pee the fire out.

Peeing is also involved at two key points in the "plot".

Postal 2 is the most cynical game I've played to date, but that's fun sometimes.

I like this idea. I mean, the 10k prize is already over and done with (in that Jack Thompson has already made it clear that he won't ever pay it.) but I still give these guys an A for "At least they still did it."

Wow, in order to beat the first boss, you are instructed to urinate on the brains of your fallen foes -- just like in Mario Brothers!

stupid dancing brains.

The kids in the Triforce t-shirts hit you with a Revolution controller when you get too close! That and the DDR boss are now officially the best things ever.

I liked it.
not gross enough, though.

This works well as a parody or an homage to old school games. I caught a Ninja Gaiden reference and a Rocket Ranger reference in the first cut scene.

I found the Megaman stuff particularly cute.

"Get ready to pee on those brains"

Way to cheer me up on a rainy Sunday, thanks.

So, two of the links are broken, and one of the links goes back to metafilter? Awesome.

It worked earlier today, then they removed their hosted game link, then the site seems to have died. Too much traffic in the last two days is my guess. Not sure about the stopkill site, though.

I'll mirror it if someone gets me the game.

They've got a mirror. Try it now.

Also, Nazi Cactrot made this all worth it.

I just played the game, and while it's a great bit of satire, I do worry that people could play that for long without feeling their stomach turn.

Generally, people on both sides of the video game violence debate take ridiculous extremes.

Classic game - gory and satiric just the way I like it. They were down for a while because the game got dugg.
