It wouldn't make sense if I explained it. Dogs go backwards slowly in Vitalic video. Vitalic 's last video was posted here, but this is better. (Vitalic is the last electronic artist I can remember being excited to find out more about. His Bjork remix, streamable though his site, is amazing).

Someone posted this video a few days ago, but the thread was deleted since the link was to pleix.net, who made the video and who have been linked here several times.

I think the post should be left up, since the video and song are so damn cool people are just going to keep posting the link anyway.

true 'nuf...the video is coolio. and those past posts were pleix-specific. just thought it was an interesting coinkydink.

Me likey the Vitalic album OK Cowboy and especially Poney Part 1. Hadn't seen the vid. Thanks Klang!

I've been waiting for the first Analord ripoff track. This is certainly it! The video's pretty sweet though.

afx114, the song may appear on the new Vitalic album, but it was originally on the Poney EP in 2001. I think that predates Analord by a bit.

Def. not an analord ripoff track... although I agree there are similarities. But that could be said of lots of great music. Electronic music, especially it seems, has a lot of interplay between different artists who hear each other's music (and spin it at DJ gigs) all the time.

Brilliant video, but I had to mute the sound - admittedly it's a notch or two above your usual pill-head floor-filling fodder, but that song was so ubiquitous when it came out that it burns the ears to hear it again (probably a compliment - if a song can still get on my wick three - maybe four? - years on, it's at least memorable!) Really not getting the Analord comparison, the Twin would doubtless be gravely offended, too.

You know in old Warner Bros. cartoons when the local drunk would see something completely impossible, like an elephant in a tutu — then looks at his bottle of bathtub gin incredulously for a second — and throws it over his shoulder? Yeah. I felt like that when I saw the word "Birds."

My bad, I stand corrected.

I've bookmarked the video for the next time my cat is being a whiny little attention whore. He's been all over my keyboard and in my face for half an hour, but when I clicked the link he SHUT.UP. and just watched the whole thing. I didn't know he found dogs so fascinating. Or maybe he's been hiding his ability to read English up to now.

I wouldn't be *too* hasty to class things as Analord ripoffs since they're pretty much retro acid pastiches as is....

Is that another way of saying it all sounds alike? Because it all sounds alike.

You kids get your slow-motion dogs off my lawn.

I keed, I keeeeed

I saw this a few weeks ago... looked for that Vitalic Birds brand of dog food at my local pet store but couldn't find it. (This is an ad for dog food, right?)

it's an ad alright. I call code blue; pepsi blue. Remixing Bjork? does that even count?
I dug through their samples and listened to that sampled track and dub it 'meh'.

on preview, what jack_mo said. (but with more feeling)

If you like this and/or LCD Soundsystem, be sure to check out The Juan Maclean.

Weird dhartung, I'd've thought folk who like DFA stuff would be the people most likely to utterly despise Vitalic. It's like saying 'If you like Arthur Russell and ESG, be sure to check out The Bee Gees.'
posted by jack_mo at 6:51 PM on February 18, 2006

Heh. I like DFA and Vitalic, but also ESG, Arthur Russell and the Bee-Gees. (I'd even take "Stayin' Alive" over "In The Light" any day).
