Terrymiles: "Negro Leagues" is the historic name for the segregated black baseball leagues. That's what they called them back then, as a proper noun, so that's what they're called now. Not weird at all. Or strange.

According to Keith Olbermannn, she wasn't black: And today's election also made a Hall of Famer out of Effa Manley... She was the owner of the Newark Eagles of the Negro American League. It sounds almost impossible to believe -- but she too was white -- married to a black man -- and she pretended to be -- as the term was, then, "passed" -- as a light-skinned black.
