Does it get funnier than "I'm the Juggernaut, bitch," or is that pretty much the whole thing?
posted by Joey Michaels at 12:21 AM on March 8, 2006

now that's funny.

Between the shitty levels, mic fumbling, and crappy black guy imitation I think I'll just scratch my face with this dry dirty sponge instead of watching the rest of it.

I don't have 'funny' friends who make their own commentary during TV shows and so that's pretty much why I got the internet.

posted by BlackLeotardFront at 1:27 AM on March 8, 2006

I blame Dave Chappelle for the proliferation of "I'm ____, bitch!" = teh funny.

It's really boring after the 5th or 6th time.

For those who haven't yet clicked the link, this flash movie contains language that is NSFW. In my opinion, it's not worthy of an FPP.
posted by Kiell at 1:56 AM on March 8, 2006

Personally, I didn't find it funny one bit. But clearly there are those who did and on behalf of them, I thank you for the link.

That must have been the 2nd half, cos the first half was shite.

College students do impressions of black street slang whilst re-dubbing a cartoon in the style of 90's TV show MST3K.

Best of the web?

Actually that little bit made me curious to re-investigate the animated series, as those guys made a better effort to maintain the continuity than Fox, Singer, Ratner & co.

Bitch.

The only funny line in the whole thing was: "My suit's made out of Laffy Taffy." Now that's comedy gold!

i'm already really dumb and that made me smarter.
posted by obeygiant at 6:37 AM on March 8, 2006

God, that sucked.

Or at least the first twenty seconds of it.
I dropped out after "I'm gonna rape you, bitch!".
If it gets way-incredibly funnier after that point, bill me for the balance.
posted by the sobsister at 6:51 AM on March 8, 2006

serioiusly misogynistic, teenage male humor, with a few good chuckles. I swear Juggernaut sounded like Biz Markie even though it wasn't. I was waiting for a beatbox...

I also like that it wasn't rehearsed, they seemed surprised when the cartoon went in a direction they weren't mouthing towards..

But yeah, college humor.com stuff..
posted by cavalier at 6:57 AM on March 8, 2006

Oh yeah, you missed out on when they start saying "nigger." Internet gets a little classier every day.

Yes, the "I'm gonna rape you bitch" line is where I clicked off also. Hilarious.

Guess that's the last time I make a flippant remark to my boss about it being International Women's Day.

I've seen this well over 20 times, and I think it keeps getting funnier. I notice new lines every time. I really hope they plan to do more of these, because Randy Hayes is a funny motherfucker. I love how they keep laughing, too.

"I'm a part-time stripper and I do hair."
"I custom-made your suit!"
"Ahh, ain't that a bitch? I'm ketchup, motherfucker! Mustard? Zap yo dumb ass."
"Comb yo beard. I don't wanna hear that shit."
"I'm fittin to kill him and I'm gonna rape him and I'm gonna eat his fucking costume."

And lastly, "Juggernaut, I got a feelin' there's something wrong with you." Truer words were never spoken.

MeFi wins the award for "Whitest Website." "Popular kids beat me up a lot from grade school through high school, so I refuse to take any interest in pop culture as an act of defiance. Now let me go masturbate to the cartoons in the New Yorker." Lighten up, and live a little. If you can't remember a time when you used to do the same thing watching cartoons as a kid, I feel sorry for you. Bitches.

Yeah, that makes sense. All the New Yorker fans in this thread inexplicably clicked on a link about X3.

I can remember, but so what? Does that make it the best of the web?

MeFi wins the award for "Whitest Website"

Not finding a bunch of kids saying bitch over and over not funny is suddenly "white." What does that mean anyway? Saying motherfucker a lot is apparently "black" then? How gay.
posted by Pollomacho at 9:15 AM on March 8, 2006

So "white" now means "doesn't agree with my sense of fun" in the same way that "liberal" now means "anyone who doesn't agree with the Bush administration"?

I just can't keep up with this rapidly evolving language of ours.
posted by Astro Zombie at 9:58 AM on March 8, 2006

I'm a pretty vulgar dude, so I laughed for the first minute or two. Then it just dragged on and got boring. As such, interest was lost. Meh.

Laffy Taffy!

Eidetecker, just because I, for one, found this crap puerile and painfully-underfunny doesn't mean I turned to it after reading Robert Benchley while boning Eustace Tilley. And it's not unfamiliarity with the material. Yeah, I watched X-Men cartoons and read (past and present tenses) the books. And yeah, I think even "white" (whatever the fuck you're on about) folks talk back to the screen--movie and TV--as children, adolescents, and adults. So, you may want to check your pants 'cause it sounds to me like you're talking through your ass.

Does that make it the best of the web?

Why do people insist on bringing that up?

In your honest opinion, are 99.9% of FPPs "best of the web?"

Clearly they are not. Do you winge to 99.9% of the posts on here? Clearly you don't. Thats not strength of conviction in my book.

The best of the web was when that Hurra Torpedo 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' video was posted. Unless you posted that here, then your as guilty, if not more so of posting things that do not qualify as best of the web. So shush!

Indeed, if it had to be the best of the web then this site would only have 1 post on it ("Turn around, bright eyes..")

Everything else posted, like this post, is just things that are interesting or cool or whatever, stand out in some way, to give us who visit here something to surf when we're skiving at work.

As I posted earlier, it entertained me. Its done its job. So valid FPP.

I find no fault in people finding humor where they may. Satirically pretending to be an asshole stereotype to mock misogyny, racism, etc? I'm cool with that. Parroting lines that have all that crap while finding the original material funny by itself ("hah hah, he shockingly said he was going to rape someone!") isn't so great. Whoever made it did a pretty good job of keeping the act up for a while, though.

Anyone else see Dave Chapelle's story of why he ended up walking off? He noticed someone was laughing not at the sarcasm mocking of racism in a sketch, but the racism itself. There's not even any sarcasm here, so I'm not sure where the humor is.

I also like that it wasn't rehearsed, they seemed surprised when the cartoon went in a direction they weren't mouthing towards.

It sure seemed rehearsed to me. They just couldn't keep up.

I don't have a particularly demanding sense of humour. I laugh at idiotic shit like this all the time. But this particular example was just fucking inept. I kept wondering why the dickheads in the background were laughing. I guess some people are very easily impressed.
posted by Soulfather at 10:45 AM on March 8, 2006

I think it's a matter of (bad) taste. It's not like I think this is truly comedy for the ages, but I understand their sense of humor and see the funny in it. It's semi-rehearsed, yeah, but those guys were probably pretty high, and anyway they're gonna ad-lib stuff anyway. I saved it. Bitch.

Eideteker: MeFi wins the award for "Whitest Website."

Oh, wait. Those were black people talking? Never mind, it was funny then. Because they were black. Black people are funny. I am, however, afraid of their hats.

I was disappointed. Posting this opinion would be totally hypocritical given what I said in the comments of my Natalie Portman (or, as I like to call her, NaPo) thread, except for one thing: I'm not posting pile on, but rather to direct people to the classic series of NSFW Thundercats outtakes (linked to in this mefi thread and (poorly) set to video here on ebaumsworld). My hope was that the Juggernaut link would be the X-version of those, so quality aside, I was bound for disappointment.

Anyway, if you've never heard them, but remember the Thundercats cartoon, they're a lot of fun (personally, I'd recommend closing your eyes and just listening to the audio). I have a bunch of friends who do ADR work for video games, foreign films and (domestic and foreign) animation and they always talk about how much they wish they could keep this kind of stuff when they leave the recording booth. Doesn't happen very often.

(Apparently, one thing I really do like is parenthetical statements.)

Dave Chappelle didn't invent "..., bitches." He merely raised it to an artform.

I'm not saying you have to embrace it or find it funny, but you ought to understand what's poppin and what's happening on the streets. This is why your kids take drugs and get knocked up in high school; your disdain for their culture isolates you from them. Lighten up. Laugh, even just a little. Demonstrating your superiority will not endear you to your children.
