My Dumb Quotient is 86

Dumb: The Game is an extremely addictive puzzle game, with the added addictiveness of a "world rankings" scoreboard to prove to the world just how smart you are. If you get stuck, the forums contain a LOT of hints. [More inside]

You start off with a certain number of coins to unlock puzzles. As you unlock puzzles, you get more coins to unlock more puzzles, and you add to your "Dumb Quotient", which is the sum of the difficulty ratings of all the puzzles you've solved. Difficulty ratings are set by users, so your DQ can go up and down with time. A very easy way to lose an entire day's productivity at work, to be sure.

I liked the two puzzles I've been able to work on so far, and have been impressed that even an "2 star" puzzle required me to think a bit, but the site now seems to be broken.

I am dumb. ;_;

I can't even navigate the site......I must be REALLY dumb.

I recommend sorting them by difficulty, instead of picking puzzle at random and wasting your coins. The harder puzzles are definitely hard. Solve a few easy ones to earn more coins.

I have to agree with Witty. Once you get to the harder puzzles, they can take a while, and having the ability to leave them for a day or two and move on to other puzzles is nice.

We all have the same last name.
Do you know what it is?

Yes. Wind. Their last name is wind. Damn it. I don't want to be dumb!!!!

OH shit. yeah.

I know what it is.

I like this game in this format much better than this format.

Is the site horribly horribly slow for anyone else? Fun, but horribly slow....

Anyone got a bead on number 9 in the samples?

I took one look and decided that it was far too difficult to attempt on my own this early in the day. Any solution to that has got to be pretty nifty, though. Any ideas?

It's running horribly slow for me, too, but I see it as a blessing -- or my boss might, anyway. You see, I can get some work done while waiting for puzzles to load....

sample 9 looks like it's giving coordinates that need to be plotted on x/y axes.

Hrmm... it does seem to be bogging down tremendously. Which hasn't happened to me at all in the last week or so that I've been playing, which means that it's probably because I posted it to the front page of MeFi... hehehe. Oh well.

As for sample puzzle number 9... no friggin idea. I'm trying to figure out the "hardest" one right now... #40, Blacker Box, which requires some sort of manipulation of the gif file that MSPaint isn't featureful enough to handle, but I can't figure it out at ALL.

I thought the same thing... but after plotting them, with the first column as the X and the second as the Y... well, that can't be right. :)

I think that pi symbol in the corner has something to do with it, but I don't know what.

I converted the xy co-ords into polar form, but that doesn't seem to give anything good either. Then again, I could have done it wrong, as my calculus is a bit rusty (hey, funny story, I'm actually in a calc lecture right now! The ironing is delicious).

Ditto. My assumption is that the answer is whatever the next number in column two would be. answers are always either a number or one word... no spaces.

My dumb quotient is 92. It's like notpron, only easier. Though I haven't figured out the 'uncoordinated' one yet -- the one with the pi y'all are talking about it.

MS Paint fills in just fine for this one.

d'oh. you're talking about #040, Blacker box of course, whereas I idiotically referred to #015, Black box.

If you want tips for blacker box, check here: http://hamumu.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=6053&sid=3d5710c47e8840a59fac08194de6074b.

(Note: I haven't looked at the tips yet, b/c I'm not up to that puzzle.)
