Eh, I think I'd still steal it.

When you just can't get enough...

I've had enough, thank you. Best of the web?

This is the first thing that sort of made me interested in the ipod.
posted by drezdn at 2:01 PM on March 30, 2006

Unless it doesn't come off, I'd still steal it.

More importantly though, there's no way most people could use this in an office where iPods are likely to be ripped off.

Has the original "model" for Goatse, or the photographer ever come forward to collect royalties?

Yeah, I think he got a whole butt-load of cash.

It boggles my mind that there's people sitting around wondering how to better tap the marketing potential of goatse.

It's a wide-open market.

posted by Capn at 2:19 PM on March 30, 2006

Can anyone think of an in-joke during the last say, 20 years, bigger than goatse? Because it's widely known amonst a certain subset of the population, but there's still manymany people who've never heard of it.

(well played design, btw. not enough to spend money on, imho, but still amusing)

It's true. thirteenkiller still stole my iPod even though I put that tubgirl-themed cover on it.

I went as Tub Girl for Halloween. No one gave me candy, though.

That's funny, dobbs. I did the same thing and got a shitload.

You guys are so disgusting I just threw up in my mouth.

HTuttle, this is a thread about goatse. You were expecting fluffy bunnies and butterflies?
posted by Malor at 2:44 PM on March 30, 2006

Malor, only if its fluffy bunny goatse. I'm not sure how butterfly goatse would work.

What a coincidence. I discovered a few days ago that my roommate had never heard of or seen goatse. Poor guy - he has now.

bigger than goatse?

I think Mahir was probably, ahem, more famous, in his day. (Thought you could trick me into a double entendre, eh, mon frere?) When Letterman invites the goatse man on, then we'll talk. Now there's an episode I'd like to see. Especially if, say, Paris Hilton were booked the same night.

Goatse is kind of like the videotape from the The Ring in that regard. Those of us who have seen it are not satisfied until we've passed it on to some innocent person.

Actually, goatse is worse because you only have to show the Ring video to one person; I've shown goatse to a shitload of people.

I imagine this is even more disconcerting with a thumb circling around the scroll wheel.

That's what you're left with when all of your software development has been offshored.

I was just playing off the TubGirl reference.
Sorry my attempt was so weak.

No wedding ring?

My first thought as well. Troubling.

(er, troubling that I am familiar enough with goatse to have that be my first thought, I mean.)

Sadly my double post has more comments.

I'm waiting for a digital camera that superimposes a tea kettle with a naked guy in the reflection into all of my shots.

capn inquisitively pondered "No wedding ring?"

It's right up there with people who pointed out the actor playing Hitler in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade didn't sign with his left hand. Noticing only leads to uncomfortable questions.
