It's F'ing Dethklok! Also known as Death Klok Metacolpyse, this cartoon from the creator of Home Movies will debut 20 episodes on Cartoon Network in August. It's been called "Spinal Tap meets Scooby Doo meets Norway, and will feature guest appearances by metal superstars. It'll be months before the high decibel violence and comedy commences, meanwhile comedy and metal nerds can see this 82 second leak.

This looks a lot like the Korn episode of South Park.

Looks like one giant Danzig joke (a good one though).

If Tenacious D doesn't show up in the show, it will be a travesty of justice. And rock.

Tenacious D == Meatloaf

... this 82 second leak

That's nothing. I had a full 100-second leak just this morning.

Gurple: hahaha! Cavalier: Cartoon Network didn't promote Home Movies worth a damn, and they've maddeningly done almost nothing on Deathklok, so you might be giving them too much credit on this one. My best guess is it was leaked (tehehe!) by someone involved in the show.

LOVE Home Movies.
Not so much with the deathmetal.

Okay, I'm confused about spelling now. Dethklok? Death Clock? Death Klok? Metacolpyse? Metalocalypse?

Interview with Brendon Small (.mp3), mostly about music, includes Dëthklok theme. No McGuirk.

(Oh, and he explains the coffee jingle gag, which is hi-lar-ious.)

They've been running a commercial for it on Sun nites.

Sounds ok, but I'm especially looking forward to David Banner's new cartoon.

Coach McGuirk is also the voice of the Devil on "Lucy: Daughter of the Devil", which got the greenlight as well. The pilot episode was very entertaining.

Speaking as an unrepentant metalhead, I have to say, this looks like it has potential. From the little bit I've heard about it so far, it seems like it's going to be humor about metal and the underground metal scene by metalheads, rather than an outsider's mockery. Which I think is great, but it also means it's going to be a total niche show, since most people don't know anything about what it's parodying. I'll be tuning in, and I'll probably get a big kick out of it, but I'm going to be (pleasantly) shocked if it gets more than one season.

(I hadn't heard about this before I saw this post, and the whole thing is a big surprise to me, actually. I never imagined I'd see Finntroll as much as mentioned on a show on a major cable network...)

Not to be confused with Deathlok

Just based on how much I loved the Kafka Metamorphosis rock opera from Home Movies, I think this is going to be so, so awesome.

Ditto!

And was that Chris Barnes doing the death metal vocals?

I loved love love Home Movies, and I love Brendon Small. This bit and others are listed on his myspace site. I really hope we get this up in Canada.

And yeah, that YouTube thing is probably a leak, given that Brendon has it listed in his "News" section.
