Warning!!!Extreme violence, mutilation, blood, guts and gore, including but not limited to eye-gouging, chainsaw disembowlment, and torture by propane torch. NSFW, in fact, NOT SAFE FOR ANYONE ANYWHERE. Halfway decent soundtrack though.

Ah hell, I too was once a very bored kid in Tulsa with too much time on my hands. I'd like to trash this, but it beats most of the shit that I never did.

Yes, there really is a chicken joint in Tulsa called "The Right Wing". It's very close to TU's campus. This is all I know about it.

Pretty terrible, though I had to laugh at myself for clicking the link before even finishing the first sentence (you had me at eye-gouging). I noticed that the blood is already splattered all over the walls before one guy is shot with a shotgun. Somewhat reminds me of Richard Kern's early films.

That was horrible. Not in a terrifying or shocking way. Just bad.

umm, kozad, I stated it was a shitty post. I stated it was not fit for anyone anywhere. Why did you click on the link? Is that your only objection, that you don't agree that the soundtrack is halfway decent? Ok, well I don't particularly care for country.

Thank goodness for those flashback scenes during the concert footage, I almost didn't get it. But did their makeup budget run out before the blowtorch torture finale? He didn't even get bloody.

Jeez, it's the anti-fun brigade today. Was it sort of dumb and silly? Hell yes it was, but death metal is sort of dumb and silly music, and if you can't have fun with it then what's the point? Sure it looked bad, but making stuff like that look good is one of the hardest filmmaking tricks known to man. Lighten up. You don't ALWAYS have to piss on someone's parade.

I'm sure some preacher in town is going to preach about this for the 2000th Sunday in a row this weekend.

Yet further proof that no one on MetaFilter was ever a teenager.

I thought it was pretty good. Needed more blood, though.

This one time a guy in my high school pierced his own nipple onstage. Never would have seen it coming; he was in my programming class (Pascal - dating myself). Just your standard everyday heavy metal dork (we called them 'hessians'), like the kind of nerdy lookin' dudes here. That's the whole point of this shit, man. For that one night, on stage, he was a fucking GOD. Just like the kids in this video are.

He got banned for life from the teen center after that. True story.

Are you from T-town, dw? I haven't lived there in nearly a decade, but when I was of a young and impressionable age, I had the good fortune to hang out with the Brother Inferior (and every other crusty political band that as inspired by NOTA) hXc scene, which actually was quite positive for me. Pity the kids in this video missed out on it.

Are you from T-town, dw?

Yep. But I left after I graduated from high school (1990). Family still lives there.

I haven't lived there in nearly a decade, but when I was of a young and impressionable age, I had the good fortune to hang out with the Brother Inferior

They were after my time, sadly.

(and every other crusty political band that as inspired by NOTA)

And they were before my time. I never heard NOTA until junior high, when some of the older kids at Cascia played them. No, in my era the Tulsa scene was way discombobulated, with neo-Nazis and folk-rockers and metalheads. But we all ended up at Starship Records in the end. Bought my first Husker Du record there.

which actually was quite positive for me. Pity the kids in this video missed out on it.

I don't doubt that it was positive. Tulsa's a nice town; other than the neo-Nazis the scene and the people were friendly. These guys seem really nihilistic, though. They sure look like preacher's kids acting out.

That's not unrealistic though, I've read accounts of people being in near death circumstances and suddenly having a feeling of calm and detachment overcoming them.
