Thailand video blogs

Every year, a special ceremony is held at Wat Bangphra for young men to pay respect to their tattoo artist.

Technically, its one Thailand Video Blog recorded, written and assembled by a guy with the not-very-Thai name of Richard Barrow. Some of the clips are fun and fascinating, but, hey "Crocodile Wrestling Show" is not Truth In Labeling (It's really "see how far you can stick your arm down a croc's throat without it getting bit off").

This site falls kind of uncomfortably the grey area between real cultural respect and Engrish-style snarkiness. Still, I'd rather have a Tuk Tuk than a Segway.

Oh man, oh man, oh fuck, oh christ, oh dear lord, I wanted to see these.

I could not get the video player to work. Bummer. Why?

To view this video you need a Flash player and a fast internet connection.

Done and done, I guess. What gives?

Pretty cool. I hope they get a bunch of them. This really brings me back. I lived in Northern Thailand for two years and shot a lot of journalistic/documentary video. Perhaps I'll contact the farang who is running the site and contribute, Thanks, konolia.

"Crocodile Wrestling Show" is the name of the actual show at the Crocodile Farm near Bangkok...
