Taking a cue from the most famous example of (accidental) movie/album synchronization, Dark Side of the Cop is the first in a planned three-disc series of an (intentional) alternate soundtrack to Beverly Hills Cop.

is this really a synced-play soundtrack or just a reimagining of the music?

Really synced. I tried it out this past weekend, and it's great- until the disc ends 30 or so minutes into it.

The scenes with Mikey were probably the most interesting. Of note is a lyric "they turn your friends into ghosts" as he's shot in the head.

Beverly Hills Cop? Kind of lame.

What I want to see is something synced up to Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. That would be trippy and way cool.

Of course I mean the Gene Wilder version.

Agreed, but at least the music improves it.

How do you repackage a tired movie from the 80's in a way to entice 18-35 year olds to buy it?
