I wonder if they got the job.

Some vintage photographs of ladies trying out for dancing jobs at a South California club. They were taken from the late 1960s through to the early 1970s, and are part of a larger set of 400 or so Polaroids. There are some cool photos here. (No nudity, but it's probably not safe for work.)

I actually posted this from work though, so it's not that NSFW.

If you send him a friend request he'll make you a "friend" contact, allowing you to see the entire set, including the NSFW ones. They're all very interesting.

I wish I had this outfit. Also, that room looks like something from my parents' places when I was little. I think it's the cinderblock bookshelves.

I'm sorry, I mean, if you make him a contact, he'll make you a "friend" contact back. This isn't myspace...keep forgetting...

Awesome.
They're sort of wistful.
Some are even kind of sad.

these are great.

I swear I caught a whiff of that distinctive bead-curtain smell. (unintentionally euphemistic)

Nice.

That old-school hair needs to make a comeback.

"Some are even kind of sad."

Nothing's a bigger turn-on than a crying stripper.

I bought the entire collection for $10.

Now that's a good deal.

Stripping Isn't Really Sexy, Is It?

It's cool how normal (and different from each other) they all look. These days they'd all have tanorexia and boob jobs.

Earlier this year I went to Flickr meetup/BBQ with a bunch of friends. We were all drinking and having fun. Then I went to sit down on this chair and saw a 1970's polaroid with a strippery girl on it. I thought out loud "oh! these are just like those stripper polaroids I saw online!" and then the woman who lived there said "those probably are the ones you saw online" and brought me a big shoebox full of them. It was like meeting someone famous. Some have terse notes on the back of them like "looks like [somebody]" or "tits".

Follow SmileyChewtrain's advice and see how much better the world was before implants.

Could someone tell me how to add someone as a contact? I can't figure it out.

Some of the comments, especially on the Flickr account, seem so stoked on the idea. I sort of understand it, but the whole format, all those dingy rooms and the sort of strained expressions on the models' faces, it's just piled with that tinge of sadness, and I don't know if I could attach any sort of "Great body! Smokin'!!!" sorts of thoughts to them.

I wonder where these women are, and if it bothers them that these pictures have surfaced on the Internet.
