Dada: Zurich, Berlin, Hannover, Cologne, New York, Paris

In less than a month the cabaret, which at first had welcomed all modern tendencies in the arts and hoped to entertain and educate the customer, had turned into a theater of the absurd. That was the intention. "What we are celebrating," Ball wrote in his diary, "is both buffoonery and a requiem mass."The scandal spread. Lenin, who played chess with Tzara, wanted to know what Dada was all about. (Previously 1, 2, 3)

I work at media database company and I had to enter data on a 'History Of Dada,' Cd a few weeks back. I was at a loss to decide whether to merely enter the data or throw a dying trout on the keyboard and let the flailing be our guide.

Also, Griel Marcus and others have expounded on the connection between Dada and much rock and roll. I think the Crystals' 'Da Doo Ron Ron' is a good example. In fact, I think they should change the whole movements name to 'Dadoo.'

I am going to set each and every one of you and your houses on fire.

Then I will call it art, and you will have no choice but to kiss my far more refined and knowledgable ass.

Which will be detached and on display as Lincoln's second, more awesome hat at the Lincoln Memorial this weekend. Because that is also better art than you plebes could comprehend.
