Google Editorializing? Someone forwarded me this search on google. Look at the first link. Is this pure editorializing or just dumb (pardon the pun) luck?

when you click on "cached" it says that "these terms only appear in links pointing to this page" ... i can certainly believe that.

Plastic covered this earlier today.

Some important site, who gets spidered frequently enough, linked to his store with that phrase.

Google obviously needs to tune their importance algorithm so that the frequency of the *link text* is taken into account.

This is the same thing as the "more evil than satan" brouhaha from a few months back.

Has anyone located a quote from a Google muck on this yet?

What *is* the deal with goatse.cx? How come people keep linking to it? Can anyone tell me the true story?

off-topic, but i believe the goatse.cx thing started as a slashdot troll where a seemingly helpful link is posted which is really just a link to goatse.cx, and grew in notoriety from there.

at least, that's the earliest i knew of it.

The "goat sex" jokes began long before someone registered the goatse.cx domain.

Yeah, ever since some caveman got caught having "goat sex."
