My kids and I met him at the park about a year or so ago and he was just amazing. When I found this vid, I just had to post it. Enjoy! (Also, I really hope this isn't a double.)

That's pretty great. And I much prefer his exuberant vocals to Tom Petty's grating nasal whine.

He could if he fashioned some sort of bottleneck slide he could attach to his toe.

The article from Ability magazine linked at the video is pretty good, too. I don't have a Myspace account; does Goffeney have the Fox commercials he did up at his page?

Please don't apologize for finding interesting things on the internet. Apologize for everyone else who thinks that's a bad thing.

I lived in San Diego for a while, and he is by far the person with the most character in that entire town (ok, fine, and all mefites in San Diego).

Armless or not, that doesn't cut it.

I'll never consider calling him in to a session or joining his band.

He has nothing (by virtue of that video) to bring to a band or an artist.

Impressive? Sure, on some level.

Important, salient, or noteworthy? Not really.

I think he'll get over it.

Charisma comes to mind. And he's out there. Doing it. And making a few bucks too.

iTunes just shuffled to "Feets Don't Fail Me Now". Thanks for the chuckle, Lowell!

My apologies.

I should have more aware that people have different motives for playing, and different roles in the world of music.

My 2 AM off-the-cuff remark was uncalled for was and I retract it.

I was just turned off by "Last Dance With Mary Jane. I'm just sick to death of dudes with an acoustic pulling that dead horse out at open mic nights.

So, play on!

That is pretty amazing.

I'm sorry he doesn't meet your high standards sourwookie. Probably none of us do.

Dammit, just when I got snarky. I retract the latter half of my post wookie.
No need to get pissy. I will go get a refill on my coffee now.

I've passed by that guy a few times. I remember my dad's girlfriend thought he really had arms and just learned to play with his feet for the fun of it.

That's incredible! I've been having serious difficulties learning the kick/hi-hat in drumming, this makes me realise just how limber and dextrous your feet can be with enough effort.
