Blake Leyh Sound designer for such films as The Abyss; Frida; Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; Y Tu Mama Tambien, and many others has a music blog. He also composed the end credit music for HBO's The Wire, which may be the best television show ever made.

Don't know about the end credits, but The Wire is definitely one of the best television shows ever made.

I knew I should have left off the last half of that sentence.

No, The Wire is the best programme ever made. Residing in the UK and not bothering about tv too much I only caught on to it recently. It is the best tv show ever. No debates.

No, I agree, but it's just become a bit of a cliche that nowadays nobody can mention the Wire without the addendum that it's 'the best television show ever made'.

Having just caught on the wire myself I have to say I am totally obsessed. It's excellent. Outstanding.

Yep. You've doomed your post about an interesting music blog to the fate of "referendum on The Wire."

I was just coming back to say the dudes blog is pretty interesting. I'll be digging though it for a while. I wish he threw up some mp3's but it's clear what side of the fence he fall on with that.

..which may be the best television show ever made.

That would be The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis. Bob Denver's finest role.

I think that it is pretty clear that The Lawrence Welk Show was the best TV show ever made.

As to the subject at hand: this is a pretty cool blog. (mlog?)

I sent him email about "The Fall" (though I didn't know it was called that at the time) more than a year ago... glad to see he's made a public statement about it now. I will definitely buy the soundtrack if/when it comes out.

As a devoted watcher of both the Wire and Battlestar Galactica, I can assure you all that they are both the best television show ever made.

I dunno. If the humans in Battlestar had an Omar on their side, the Cylons would be little more than outmoded toasters by now.
