The Kings of Myspace. I wanted to hate this, but it's actually very funny. (youtube)

I'll take anything by cortex over this. Thanks

That's funny, viral and I think will never again listen to rap without associating MySpace. Soon we will have ol-school gangsta Geocities VS new-school, newbz Myspace. Murdock so much needs to hire my azz.

Yeah, not so much, but the intent is funny. It meant well.

I must be getting old though, because I find it terribly embarassing to see that some older adult, John McQuilkin (also here) is posting a video response to this. Dude, have some dignity. There are also a bunch of other videos along the side starring guys with shaved heads in their late forties (the stubble is grey).

It's like these mid-life crisis guys were never cool or popular in their youth, and are trying to do it over.

Humanity, ugh.

I hate myspace, and I thought this was quite funny. So suck it, haters.

I wanted to find this funny, but I (almost) hated it.

I hate myspace

You and 43,538 other MeFi members. But as long as we're on the subject, MySpace Music is an amazing thing. Almost any musician/band you can think of has (or will have sooner than they think) a MySpace Music page. And each and every page comes with as many as 4 songs (pieces, whatever) you can hear and (usually) download. And scrolling through musician's friends sites can lead you to all manner of music and musicians that you'd otherwise never hear or know about. So, word to all: don't let your (justified) hatred of MySpace keep you from exploring MySpace Music.

whoops, should've italicized that first "I hate MySpace", as it was a quote. Oh well...

I thought the part where they moved from image to image was clever.

I hate using myspace, but I don't hate myspace as a phenomenom. I think it's been great for music.

Soon, the Kings of MySpace will form alliances with the Lords of Dogtown and the Mayor of Simpleton.

Ok, so "The myspace" is ok, but The Google isn't? Just kidding, I thought it was pretty cute.

I get that 25-8 is one more than 24-7, but is that really slang that the kids are using these days, or was that an invention of this song?

Well, the Beatles have been loving me 8 days a week for some time now.

A page? online? with media fies?

Truly, the intertubes have been revolutionaryized. Web 0.75, here I come!

I like MySpace (I've found a LOT of old friends that I had looked for using other routes... also, many old friends found me).

I thought this was quite funny and clever.

Sorry, MeFi grumpgang, I thought that was funny.

No one at Myspace likes Metafilter either.

(That has nothing to do with me... just did a search out of interest)

I didn't think it was very funny, but I was impressed with the production quality.

So I guess it's safe to say, cortex, that you won't be joining company with the other cortexes?

I guess as usernames go, cortex is a pretty good one. Popular on MySpace, anyway!

As far as I'm concerned, those cortices can get stuck in vortices. I'm the one, baby!
