Some of your favorite bands and tv shows suck. And some are quitte amazing. And some are Giorgio Moroder, which makes me quite happy, though some are Jerry Seinfeld and Dane Cook which are neither music videos or cartoons, which confuses me.

Mayhaps I shall go to sleep now. And see if thiswonderful madness and (copyright infringement?) ramain when I wake.

I'm not going to take credit for the (clumsily truncated, oops) 11,500 music videos. The list was originally on a site that put them up with ads last week, javascriptically obfuscated (but poorly), which I'd planned to run through some texty filtery action for my own benefit, when I saw that kokogiak had already done so and uploaded the list to a Site That May Not Be Named, so I figured I'd mashup some video shit I already had bookmarked, and make some YAY.

OMG Stav - did you hear all of these first? I just listened to the certifiably fabulous Pet Shop Boys sacrifice their classic 'What Have I done To Deserve This?' on the altar of Catatonia's Cerys Matthews tuneless voice (er, you know what I mean?)

Now, for a real shock - here's a version with the Pet Shop Boys original partner - Dusty Springfield, at the BRITs Awards Show in 1987 or 88.

Dusty looks like some hollywood vamp - but still is absolutely glorious - apart from the rather obvious miming to the recorded track. Mind you, if you've seen some of the live performances at that ceremony - you'd know why it's taped.

Clicked on Jimi Hendrix playing Foxy Lady. It's in Hawaii, at a windy outdoor set-up that looks like a large back yard, to a bunch of very happy, tanned, half dressed surfer dudes and babes. Amazing.

Couldn't believe there's an excellent vid of Van Morrison, so cool in 1966, singing Please Don't Go. Here singing Crazy Love with Bob Dylan outdoors on a breezy day in Athens.

Excellent entertainment. Nice!

Daily Motion isn't as quick as google about clearing stolen content, but they do it eventually.

Enjoy the stuff while you can.

If you really like it, shell out some cash and buy the cds and dvds to support the folks who produced the original content. (not that I won't be watching Robot Chicken all day now)

If you're going to cut and paste another fucking webpage as a 'more inside' comment, how the fuck do you manage to leave out half the alphabet in large blocks? There are less than 3400 out of the original 11500 hyperlinks to YouTube videos that may or may not be actual music videos for the band and song used as link text.

Looking through just a sampling of these links, I can't believe it's still up. It's just so damn sloppy. Some of the videos are cover versions of said band's song (which could be interesting, but not without that magical word, context).

FYI: I've clicked on at least 10 of the video links and were taken to videos of things other than what I clicked on. I've been taken to 2 lonelygirl vids and 1 bumfights vid and some other band other than the link.

I get the idea of your post and appreciate it, but you really posted 11,000 total links there is no way that you could have double checked anything that you are linking to. A bit overkill here....

I sat transfixed, blinking uncomprehendingly. Surely there was a pattern, a meaning to the madness.

The letters that were missing seemed...familiar, somehow. There was no C, and no H. No I, K, E, or N. Clearly, something was afoul.

What else was missing? The letter Q, and its sister U. I listed the final remaining letters...B F L O R T. This "QU," surely it had to be followed by a vowel? QUOT? QUOTE? QUOTH? Perhaps it is not a raven perched upon my bust of Pallas, but a wondrous chicken in its stead?

The final letters sat accusing. A dreadful mess of consonants, resisting any attempt to decipher the chicken's message. Exhausted and defeated, I laid down, and as I drifted to sleep, I saw myself as if in a mirror, but on closer inspection, I see I am lying in a white room, a room with no windows or doors. Moaning and babbling, arms tied behind my back, a slight trickle of drool beginning to escape from my lips. Startled by the vision, I awoke, and the consonants and vowels still whirling in my brain slowly coalesced...R B B R F L R R B B R F L O R....

RUBBER FLOOR.

QUOTH THE CHICKEN, "RUBBER FLOOR."

The message, far too clear, reverberates within every recess of my mind. This unwelcome vision, this unwarranted intrusion, surely this cannot be allowed to pass. So now I sit, looking at this empty pill bottle, comforted only by my slowly blurring vision, and the fading hope that I have somehow cheated fate.
