Yuck. Clicking on one of those pistures downloaded a movie onto my desktop. I HATE that. And it's a goddamn AD. Grrr...

A big tall glass of Pepsi.

That put the Hirt on me.

Careful with these things. It's a slippery slope from the Shat to the Thneed and the accompanying environmental disaster.

So, if you lose bowel control with this on, have you shat your shat?
posted by jonmc at 7:35 AM on January 4, 2007

Brilliant. I fully expect to see these next spring break, printed with rich, lurid beer ads, worn by nearly every drunken shirtless fratboy. It'll be the biggest thing since Corona visors worn backwards and upside-down.

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.

I shat myself.

they weren't thinking much when they named that, were they?

I think this will be a popular give-away from beer companies to people who use all 16 forms of "dude", as was suggested up-thread. The awful name is actually going to be a selling point. Awful sells in that demographic.
posted by Mister_A at 8:18 AM on January 4, 2007

"Awful" sells in that demographic

Americans?

It's funny because it sounds like poo poos
posted by TheDonF at 8:55 AM on January 4, 2007

So if we made pants that turned into shoes would they be "Shants" or "Pooes"?
posted by Devils Rancher at 8:56 AM on January 4, 2007

I actually think that commercial is hilarious wfc123. Hilarious old-school awfulness. The one where there's a bunch of kaiju monsters running around with diarrhea is less funny though.

I'm just talking about Shat.

That site looks so earnest in its mid-90's Geocitiesness that the product name must, in fact, be not a joke.
posted by Anything at 10:58 AM on January 4, 2007

Someone must have shat themselves when they came up with that name.
posted by mike3k at 10:58 AM on January 4, 2007

I mean, did you try mouseovering the logo at the top. I don't have speakers, but I can just hear the woosh!

Does it have a woosh!?
posted by Anything at 11:02 AM on January 4, 2007

Oh, I can only imagine the number of ways the woosh! could be lovingly misconfigured out of sync with the gif..

posted by graventy at 7:32 PM on January 4, 2007

hmmmm... this does taste kinda like pepsi. rare_g's stuff:

"I recently began working for a small textiles company."
From here.
(i hope they didn't pay too much for the shatcorp site)

"How do I make a template of a t-shirt that I can manipulate? "
From here.

Not really a call-out, i couldn't care less, but... s/he sure loves them thar textile-y things!

After the name, and possibly the videos (which I haven't seen because I just watched part of the video from that Corey Haim post and I don't think I could handle it in my present fragile state), the next best thing about the SHAT website is the little 'Microsoft Internet Explorer' thing down the bottom left of the page.

What is that doing there? Are they trying to do visitors a favour by reminding them that IE exists? Do you need IE to really appreciate SHAT? I hope not, because I'd hate to think Firefox is giving me incomplete access to SHAT.
posted by A Thousand Baited Hooks at 5:00 AM on January 5, 2007

Hm... as an indication of how bored I am, I actually looked up US Patent #383,890 on some patent search site (the US patent office site crashed Firefox, which may be why shatcorp recommends IE) and it's some kind of automatic sprinkler system from 1888. Here.

Hoax? I hope not, because shatcorp is too cool not to be true.

Can someone please double post this, so I can say "Shat happened"?
