Amazon expands again. Does anyone know a reason (other than accesibility to high bandwidth connections) that this wasn't implemented months ago?

Connection refused. And it's not in google's cache. What was it?

Define "months ago." Between late October and early January you won't see a lot of new stuff launching since most of the work focus is on making sure the December holidays go smoothly.

It should be responding now, but if it isn't, Amazon's set-up a software store. Pay and download.

Man, Amazon frustrates the piss out of me. They're a good, solid company, they do pretty much everything right, and their business practices aren't any worse than any other corporation.

Uh, take that as you will. :-)

I like Bezos too, he's pretty nifty. But the patent thing really really bugs me. It was so much easier being righteous when Amazon just did books well. :-)

Amazon frustrates the piss out of me, too. A great site with lots of useful services for shoppers. Every time I think they've made the best possible Internet shopping experience, they add something else that makes it even better. But since I live in Washington, I get to pay 8% sales tax on everything I order from them, so I rarely do.

I guess selling "downloadable software" seems like such a natural fit for Amazon I was surprised they had not implemented this back in 1999, or at least earlier in their efforts to expand beyond just books.

After looking at the software I was curious why I would want to download Flash 4 software. Did I just find out about Flash and must have the previous current version? I did not see much of anything worth downloading or buying and having sent from the download center. Maybe they are looking to combine this with M$ rentable OS (XP) that you can download as you only have 24 hours before your OS is gone.
