How do the women in India shave (legs, underarms, or genital areas)?

Depilation is considered a private matter in India and is not discussed in public. All common forms of hair removal are practiced, including pastes made with natural herbs.

Yup, that seems to be one of the most frequent queries in men's minds up in your part of the hemisphere;)

Hadjiboy, great post.
Eve teasing the practice of touching women in public against their will. As long as euphemisms are routinely used for what is sexual assault, you will find it very difficult to change the mindset that this is just some harmless bit of fun. Language is a very powerful tool of social control and of social change.

When I saw the URL I became really excited to find out about the cultural revolution the Wii has unleashed among the women of India. What a let-down.

Wilder, a few months back, there was a project that was being conducted by a group of girls across some of the major cities in India where they were going to exhibit some of the clothes that they wear everyday, so as to display the kind of harassment that is meted out to them because of it. (The prevailing myth here is still that if the woman wears something that society does not deem “proper”, then maybe the woman/girl in question was Asking For It.)

delmoi, it happens everywhere. In India, it feels kinda like swimming in a sea of stingless jellyfish or something... in Italy it's more like swimming in a sea of lobsters.

Seems like the biggest problem for Indian women is Indian men.
