Word Dissassociation A lovely little song made up of completely random words.

Funny, I once invented a little game called Word Disassociation. (I make no claims as to the quality of the page, though, I wrote it several years ago.)

Cute! I'd recommend it for kids especially...although in one or two instances their parents might bristle at the use of "damn."

It's isn't so much that the song is nice as the word displays are creative.

Lemon Demon has done quite a few humor-type songs, including the epic tale of The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny.

They never seem to really run out of inventive ways to display the words, plus the music was fun and they had a approach to the whole thing. Reminded me a bit of school house rock. Good stuff.

A great approach that is....

Cute! But I've got my U-God, De La and 3rd Bass to keep me warm.

Mr.Encyclopedia - You beat me to it! As much as I enjoy that song, I feel they overlooked Ash from Army of Darkness.

This reminded me of two things,

a) Bob by Weird Al, which deserves extra credit for being written in palindromes; and

b) Stuck Out On by Mefi's own ORthey,
who deserves extra credit for being insanely talented.

About Stuck Out On:

"My lyric-writing "system" has often been dozens of little stickies on the desktop, thoughts, ideas, scribbles... and then sometimes when I'm frustrated I'll make a song made up of various combinations that seem to make sense. Like this one!"

Excellent! Totally loved that. Brilliantly done. Don't think the words were random though, the lyrics rhymed. But the theme of word dissaciation was kept. Joyously postmodern fun and definitely catchy music.

Very catchy, and a nice idea; reminds me of some of the pieces by They Might Be Giants (where the lyrics are not always grammatical, either). As far as the "randomness" is concerned: I really would like to attempt an analysis if I had the time - from a quick glance I can tell that nouns are predominant, with adjectives coming second and verbs and adverbs occurring very rarely. On the other hand I don't want to over-analyze it, since it's plain fun to listen to...

I just like the fact that they used one of my favorite words "antidisestablishmentarianism".

Decent. Hard to hear/see that without thinking of the great Robyn Hitchcock song "Unsettled." Sadly, no video for it but lyrics here.

How very cool! It gives me ideas for a 'musical video' vocab assignment for my classes. Is there any way I could d/l a youtube video? (ok, ok ... I will go check ask mefi ...)

Lemon Demon is almost always awesome and this video has been in the wild for some time. It'd be nice if it gets to finally reach the audience it deserves.

My fave Lemon Demonization is still "Geeks in Love".

"Paranoia" flashing on the screen for a split second was the best one out of all.

Most amusing, thanks lazaruslong. I liked the juxtaposition of so many of these - "spidery concubine" and
"lickety-split remorse" to name a few. There are probably some very good band names to be had here.
