Move over DotComGuy, looks like you have some competition in the dumb name department. A New Zealand marriage will produce a dotcom couple.

Flahive.Hill to slash 50% of its workforce

In a move that shocked the board of directors and investors in Flahive.Hill, the company today announced that 50% of its workforce would be slashed. Rob Flahive.Hill will soon be looking for work after Liz Flahive.Hill announced heavy first quarter losses. Mrs. Flahive.Hill said "the business plan for the marriage never really took off, and due to market conditions, we were forced to downsize operations." Mr. Flahive.Hill could not be reached for comment, though Mrs. Flahive.Hill vowed to continue searching for a replacement.

wouldnt that make the husband a subdomain of the wife? or his the domain name and hers the TLD? does that mean she could set up this arrangement with as many other guys as her DSL provider will allow? how long before someone else registers flahiveSUCKS.hill?

this phenomenon hit my personal life about three weeks ago when my brother and his girlfriend announced that their new baby would have this as his full name: Kobalt Endichos Cooper.King.

kobalt's kind of cool, endichos had me rolling my eyes (there's no greek tradition in either family), but the dot is just downright flaky.

You can bet the poor kid will be counting down the days until he can change his name to something less lame.

I cannot understand why people give their kids horrible names. Hubris, maybe.

When you name a kid Kobalt, you're just begging for him to turn out blue.
