I'm glad that the media is taking the same hands off stance with the Bush children that they did with the Clinton children. Oh wait...

Oh yeah, jbelshaw, that powerhouse of mainstream media The Nando Times...And if the Secret Service had been called in to bail out Chelsea's boyfriend, Congress would have been calling for an independent counsel, for chrissakes. Poor opressed republicans--grow up.

jpoulos, first off, i'm not a republican. My point here is that liberals are just as whiny, bitchy and annoying as conservatives. My shot wasn't at the media, but at the followers who love to revel in shit like this.
The only thing the boyfriend did wrong here was spout off about being the presidents daughters boyfriend, and i'd put money on that not being the case very long.

Jenna should definitely dump that drunken frat-boy looser. Then again, if her mom had shown the same judgement, she might never have been born...

Oh, I guarantee you, you'll be reading more. Whether it's DUIs, dating cousins or getting caught in the back seat of a car with a naked girl, this Bush family is going to put the fun in dysfunctional for the next four years.
I can't wait!!

There's nothing dysfunctional about being in the backseat with a naked girl...
(unless, once you're back there, you find that you're (ahem) dysfunctional.)

oh, because god knows the media really went lightly on clinton. i've never seen a family so ravaged by the press. the only reason chelsea was ever left alone was because the clintons insisted on it, something i give them much respect for to this day, regardless of their other transgressions.

I agree Bush is getting an easy ride from the press right now. But just wait. Once Clinton's been beaten to death, the White House media corps (who in the opinion of this member of the media is the laziest, most overrated, egotistical bunch of hyenas out there) will turn on GWB. Just wait.

I've kind of gotten the impression that it's not the White House press corps that's been the thorn in Clinton's side so much as it's the editorial boards of various publications (notably the WSJ) and the punditocracy. Not?
