KIMBLE rulez!

KIMBLE rulez! There's nothing like a good old, humble home page. Now I've heard that overuse of the flash plugin is a no-no, but this site makes me say yes-yes! Be sure to view on a good multimedia system on a really PHAT pipe.

I remember being shown this site a couple years ago and absolutely losing my shit. I guess it was obvious that I would become a Flash junky... and I blame Kimble for that. The site hasn't changed much in years - and it still rules!

Meanwhile, have you seen this guy's bio?! His offices in Hong Kong are sick - massive, golden desk in golden hall, looking like the devil. Not to mention Mega-car, another one of his companies...

Some guys have all the luck...

Hmm... this is why I hate, I absolutely positively hate flash. I mean there are good uses, but this is horrible, it was when I first saw it years ago on the now changed flasher.net and it is now. I have this weird urge to just kill the voice-over guy, I can not imagine anything worse! I think I'll go over to Jakob's site to cleanse myself.

The other thing is why does he keep on posing in front of everything? Are those *his* offices? All of the photos looks kinda fishy.

Umm, you mean kimble is a hotel door man? Looks like a hotel lobby to me.

This and this are the only Flash I’ve ever liked. But they’re soooo cooool.

Yeah, that was my thought.

Here's the REAL scoop on Kimball.

Muppetboy, I'm sorry to be predictable, but ... ehhh. I mean, it's okay. But, again, again, you you just sit and watch it. It has a couple of interactive touches, but, for the most part, you just look at it -- you can't push it, you can't tweak it, it's just a little movie.

Now this is good Flash (or at least Shockwave), if you just like the artsy (as opposed to interface) stuff. And take the time to find the extraordinary stuff here.

And here I thought he really had a car that turned into a boat ... just by being a great programmer! My career dreams are shattered!

God, do I really need to develop an irony emoticon?

Ha! I knew it! I never read those articles. I remember talking over at flasher.net, where the nrg guy and kimble both were posting. When the kimble site first broke I commented on how fishy it all looked. Kimble sent me a 5 paragraph e-mail which basically said I was a jealous idiot that would never gain the wealth and respect as he had.

Kimble is the kind of schmuck that masturbates to pictures of himself.

He tries so hard to be cool, that you can be 100% sure he's not. The only bad thing about him is that he's SO easy to make fun of, it's not a challenge....

“Kimble is the kind of schmuck that masturbates to pictures of himself.”

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

The only things Herr Schmitz needs to land the role as the next James Bond villain is an eyepatch, a wheelchair, and a black cat. "Dr. Kimble" already has the white suit, 400 pound bulk, and fantasies of world domination down pat.

Type on the web bites. The only thing I've seen that does typography any justice is Macromedia stuff, not some lame CSS-engineer-made-typographic-hack. Jakob is a bright guy, but he ain't no typographer. check http://www.typographic.com/, http://www.adobe.com/web/gallery/typographic/main.html, http://www.studiomotiv.com/counterspace/, http://www.linotypelibrary.com/, http://www.rsub.com/typographic/

Not everyone is jimmy chen though. Next thing is you have to understand that the internet is made for information, and passing, design should be secondary, unless it is on design (design on design) and such, until our technology improves that is. Typography and design does not have to mean flash, the same can be an image. 2-3 site you mentioned above use html and they're good. Flash is 99.9% evil.

I find it quite amusing that Kimble's company dataprotect features an archive of Nielsen articles (top right), translated into German... Hey, even the one on flash made it. Guess it just shows the paradox that Kimble is.
