There was an intresting article about Obama's "movement" on MyDD, where Jerome Armstrong basically said it was kind of fake, all about how great Obama was rather then any real passion like Dean had. I kind of feel the same way, and it's disappointing because I really want Hillary to lose the nomination.

I think the media loves this because they have a thin shred of cover claiming they can be reporting on "politics" while running a video clip of a jiggling hot girl over and over again

You say that like it's a bad thing. Seriously, you'd rather spend 5 minutes bitching about politicians than looking at a sexy girl?

XQUZYPHYR writes "Just don't pretend it's news-related context."

Xq I concur, but let me point out there's something more annoying (to some) then booty-as-newsworthy , and that something are

1. rallies to favour the poors that end up being enormous scam , with 80% money going to overinflated "cost of marketing blah" . A feel better operation with guaranteed ratings.
2. astroturfing of association of mothers for safety of children, promoting that the extra price of nestle milk is justified because it helps baby and doesn't kill their and more blah
3. reporting of protests and costant painting and cornering of the protestors as distruptors, unpatriotic, un-something, or generally as hopeless idiots

and that's just three , my guess would be that booty-news is the least revolting not-news-cookedas-news.

Yep, that pretty much nails my own cynicism: I enjoyed the video for the obvious reason, but color me bright skeptical. It would surprise me not at all to learn that the Obama machine spent some money to get this thing made.

I would like to believe this gal made the video because she actually cares about Obama, but I've got a strong taste of Pepsi Blue in my mouth, figuratively speaking.

It would surprise me not at all to learn that the Obama machine spent some money to get this thing made.

Yes. Because this is the second version. Mine was the first.

A few months back I was contacted by man named Lex who said he was a representative of the Obama Campaign.

He asked me if I was a supporter. I said, perhaps too enthusiastically, "YOU BET!" He then asked me if I would like to make a supporter video for distribution on the internet. "Would I!!"

This girl made pretty much a shot for shot duplicate of that video. Although in mine there was a rather lengthy montage scene of me nude on a bear skin rug in front of fire sipping a Obama branded mug of hot cocoa and cuddling a golden lab puppy. If THAT scene won't get a black man elected president nothing will.

Oh. And then there was the shower sequence with the finger paint soap. And the rubbing of butter all over my body afterward. Lex insisted. Not sure what it had to do with the Obama campaign quite frankly. But I was assured it was for a nations future. And that's good enough for me.

Yet. The campaign will not return my calls when I inquire when this important opus will debut?

She's fictitious. She's a model hired to lip sync.

The video was made by a 21-year-old undergraduate at Temple University who previously went viral with "my box in a box."
posted by CunningLinguist at 2:26 PM on June 15, 2007 [1 favorite]

The possibilities missed by the two Bush campaigns to do something along these lines boggle the mind. But they didn't need to win, since they had it all figured out how to steal the elections anyway.

Personally, I'd vote for the girl in the video if she were running. As it is, I'm supporting Edwards. Obama is exciting, but Edwards makes my issues his leading issues.

And yeah, someone beat me to it: Giuliani can make his own version of this and dress in drag and star in it himself. He don't need no stinking jiggling done on his behalf.
