John Hodgman [fantastic youtubed interview], author, expert, oathster and yes, electronics impersonator, blogs jury duty. Amusement ensues.

He's also a pretty good weatherman. (Near the end)

OH! I've been hearing about this guy (and intermittently impressed) but I didn't know he was the PC in the Apple ads. I guess this is where I go into one of the periods between being impressed.

And now I'm back out of that period having watched the pretty funny oath.

I'm on jury duty myself now, stuck on a two-week trial. Nearly every day at lunch, Phil Spector and his defense team hang out on our floor. His bodyguards have got to be nearly a yard in diameter.

That is all.

As a group, or individually?

Oh geez. Is that the Hodgman Signal I see up in the sky? Did someone light it up again?

Hey tkchrist, as long as you're in here, scroll down on the Hodgman link for some MMA commentary.

His intermittent capslock use is MORE THAN A LITTLE ANNOYING.

It's [uuunnggh!] COMIC BOOK STYLE, my friend. You've got to [gasp] EMPHASIZE certain WORDS in an HEROIC FASHION.

I read a little further down the page, and came across this:

"If you go there and meet Steven, please have a Blizzard on me. Send me the receipt care of the PO Box in my book--be sure to have Steven sign it--and I will reimburse you."

I am so totally making a trip to Bozeman just so I can say John Hodgman bought me a Blizzard.

I guess that should be BOUGHT ME A BLIZZARD.

Wow, he's already done a bunch of updates, including a link to a hobo murder. WTF Philly?

We are not worthy of his perfect hobo love.

That is all.

I myself have a severe case of HOGMANIA.

Shoot. I meant HODGMANIA. Though I do love bacon.

You dropped your funnybone back there a parsec or two, MapGuy. I suggest you go pick it up.

When Hodgman said "polio" I damn near fell outta my chair. This shit is funny. Next time I find myself in a bookstore, I'll get my Hodgmania freak on.

...but to be honest I'm mildly disappointed. I'd misread the link when I first clicked on it and was expecting to find out what Joel Hodgson has been up to lately. Does anyone know what he's been up to? I hope he's not turned into a hobo.

I'd like for the record to show that I personally coined the term "Hodgmania" many moons past. I demand a cut of your Apple royalties, my friend.

Oh, he is the guy who plays the PC, my bad, it must have been a case of dissociative hatred.

YoungAmerican, your podcast is great!

Hodgman, if you read this, I'm the guy who recently waived emphatically at you as if we knew each other. You were holding the hand of a little ballerina and crossing the street as I drove through the intersection. Sometimes I forget that I don't really know the famous people I know, and they especially don't know me (although Ed Helms swears he knows me from somewhere), and I know that sometimes it scares them. so I apologize.
