Do you want your next president to be an unintelligent, corrupt, incompetent liar? Of course you don’t. Neither does Russ Feingold. (And oh by the way, the next president must also be a Dylan fan. More about the video)

Russ Feingold hates America.

He was the only Senator to vote against The Patriot Act the first time around.

Apropos, Talking Points Memo, this very evening.

I was expecting the "Dylan fan" link to go there. :)

Kind of cool that a politician would do something like this, but his performance just isn't very good. Not joking.

I want my next president to be a tiny Jewish man from Wisconsin.

...his performance just isn't very good.

He's a reliably great performer when/where it counts.

Kind of wish he'd have run for POTUS, kind of glad he didn't.

A man of honesty, integrity, and intelligence. The American media wouldn't have treated him as if he was a small cut above Mike Gravel.

cool, he did a takeoff on that INXS video "mediate."

I kid.

seriously, he seems like a great guy, and I'm a bigger Dylan fan than the next guy but come on... whoever the Dems nominate has already got the over 40 white liberals locked up.

try reaching out to the people who are actually going to win or lose the election for you.

Yeah, but Dylan covered them first.

Is it my imagination or did Weird Al use the music from "On The Road Again" instead of the music from Subterranean Homesick Blues?

Russ is basically the only person in this country I would whole-heartedly vote for.

I'm politically active: I vote, I have opinions on things, I'm well-informed. But I still often find myself voting for people who are the best available, but not my dream candidate.

But when it comes to Russ, I'm a bona-fide True Believer.

If by 'competent' you mean 'consistent.'

It was a dead-on imitation of Dylan, though.

"Russ Feingold hates America.

Sorry Poolio, that's called having a pair. I supported him
in that decision as well.

It is actually possible to retain your rights and fight against terrorism.

When I hear people say that I think of this quote by Benjamin Franklin:
"They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security".

If you're all about giving up your freedoms for "security", move somewhere else. Like maybe Saudi Arabia, Indonesia,
Venezuela, one of those lovely places. You can fit right in with the rest of the mindless, non-questioning masses there.

Progressive, eh? Isn't that the modern code word for "there is no problem that a little more government can't fix (especially those problems caused by the government)"? What's that famous definition of insanity again? Something about doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results?

Honest, competant, intelligent? Yes, more please. Progressive? Not so much.

Thanks, Floydd. But the trucker hat trend ended several years ago. I would've accepted a leopard skin pillbox hat. Got any more up-to-date signifiers of man o' the people authenticity?

I wish he would've run this time. I wish he'd run any time.

I still think that a liberal politician who espouses their views clearly, and then actually holds to those views, would attract many more voters (from the various disaffected) than they would turn away.
