Haha it's funny because it's about other things that are funny.. Oh, wait.

I dunno, I really kind of wanted to hate it for the above reasons.

But then I didn't. Weird!

The best bits of this remind me of our very own cortex. The rest of it reminds me of how I'm storing up a lot of useless stuff in my very own cortex.

52/63. This is not good. This is not good at all. I'm quitting the internet.

I thought it was pretty good, and sad that I recognized 99% of the memes referenced.

Waiting for the chorus of We Didn't Start the Fire was like waiting for the sneeze that builds and never comes.

Okay I *thought* it was smile-funny but then the Chocolate Rain guy turned up and it became laugh-funny. Neat!

Thanks. I forgot about half of these.

I mean, dammit, I was trying to forget about all of these.

Computer people.

Yeah. I stared at those breasts for minutes before wondering, "How did she get her top off with her jacket on?".

So wait, how is Sun Mainframes Gone Wild exactly?

You know what? it's always Peanut Butter Jelly Time.

And now that I see it, it appears that it's also always Badger time.

The first song my friend's son, Max, ever learned was 'Badger Badger.' It goes as follows: when Max reaches the 'Snake! Snake!' part, he hushes, looks at you expectantly, and you must then shriek 'Snake! Snake!' very loudly. Whereupon a delighted Max howls with laughter and often falls down.

He'll willingly do this many, many times. Especially if he's supposed to be going upstairs to bed.

It's a meme made flesh.

that was more than a minute. also, anything with singing... not funny.

Well, I do spend all my free time on the Internet.

And yeah, Chocolate Rain really sealed the deal on this.

All we need is for Family Guy to make a reference to this video. Then we can be sure that every last bit of humor has been washed from these memes.

Burhanistan writes "I could watch those badgers for days on end."

I'd rather see lions. Only in Kenya.

I knew what most of those were without actually having seen most of them. You can't seem to avoid memes even if you try.

I'm really, really glad I didn't recognize every one of these... also, Mahir brought back the memories. Incidentally, all your base was what originally lead me to MetaFilter.

Where the giraffes are... and the zebras...

Great. Now I'm going to be trying to make that mouth trumpet noise all night. Again.

Haruspex: I think we all need to see video of that.

I feel so warm and squishy and included for knowing most of these, and then I hate myself for feeling that way and oh god, I just don't know anymore.
Although I don't know how they could've missed this, unless by 'meme' you mean 'something I personally happen to have watched a million times because I am strange'.

While Wonder Showzen is indeed awesome, "internet" != "cable channel almost no one watches."

This reminiscence of whackjobs on the internet reminded me of something from the ancient pre-1996 days of the web... I'm not sure if it ever attained meme status but does anyone remember the college kid who wanted to be a robot and was designing his own "operating system" to use in place of his personality? He posted detailed technical specifications and patches to his BatshitOS or whatever he called it... Am I the only one who remembers this?
