Indestructotank!

The bad news is that you're controlling a lone, unarmed tank against countless enemies, and your fuel is limited. The good news is that you're completely indestructible, and can destroy the bad guys by hurling your own tank into them. Play Indestructotank!

I'll have to wait to play until I'm not at work.

But I will play, because it sounds like sweet, sweet revenge for the thousands of times my character in one game or another -- especially in the 80s -- was killed inexplicably by the slightest touch of the enemy.

The music sounds totally like the stuff they like to use for background music in most unicorn porn.

Honestly, I think this one is a bit boring. Zzzz.

The graphics weren't great, the play was repetitive and the controls were a bit loose. I kept landing upside down and worrying about how to correct that.

And if we posit an indestructable tank, why do I need fuel? I can just wait for the enemies to come to me, right?

Don't oppress my indestructible tank with your logic fascism, man!

It's quite a lot of (mindless) fun. Only quibble: when you run out of gas, you explode immediately. I was juggling a 25 point combo when I exploded mid-air. Annoying.

Game got frustrating when I gained like three levels in a row off a nine or ten plane combo and then nothing came at me for a solid minute.

Well, I liked it. It's no BattleZone, mind you.

Has someone made a web-based OGRE yet?

tehloki : I've never been so confused from a comment about a tank-based flash game. Thanks!

I loved this game. It was like Orisinal's Winter Bells, except with more 'splodin!

Fun stuff! Bummer that the high score tables are polluted by someone submitting his achievements under the name "i hacked your game"

Well, aren't you clever.

EatTheWeak, I was thinking the same thing. It's also a bit weird that you can apparently keep playing forever once you've maxed out all the enemy counts. Fun for a few minutes, though.

yes, indeed, fun for a full 25 seconds...

Very fun, very very easy, and I lost on level 7 or so because my combo went too long. Why does fuel run out while I'm in the air?

It seems like the bouncers are the best ones to buy; it puts enough bombs in the air that you can just bounce around until you need to land to cash in on the points.

That's what I was going to say. And without the strummy Martin D-18, too.

I invested heavily in mines - once you get to 10 with them, you can usually continue your combo pretty easily by landing on them.

I had the same problem as tylermoody - I died because my combos were getting so long that I couldn't land to cash in the xp. Bad game design.

That's part of the challenge; once you get to higher levels the hardest part is avoiding everything and being able to land.

While there is certainly a place for games that are difficult and games that have a complex story (e.g. Bioshock) I really frickin' love games that are fairly easy with no story whatsoever.

I'm also a sucker for "upgrade" games. And I love, love, love games like this, that reverse all of the old expectations / cliches. I do find that I miss a few because I can't resist jerking to the left, out of the way of the falling bombs!

(Oh, and as far as "iHackedYourGame" goes, I'd much rather that that fellow have all of the high scores than have someone with a less unusual name fill in all the scores with one point higher than the leader... they clearly have a problem, and now they now that they need to fix it).

In a game where the point is to get bombed, it's a little silly to complain about the logic of not collecting points until you land, or running out of fuel in the air. I like that it doesn't make any sense.

If i were the enemy...I probably would not fire on this tank.

what does the red and blue circle around the mid-air tank indicate ?

I played this a few days ago, but I assume you're referring to the thing it does to indicate that the real tank is off the screen - you get the picture of the tank with the circle to indicate your horizontal position.

I've found that it's often more fun to not upgrade all the way (leave one type at 9) and keep playing with limited fuel. I didn't get any further than level 17 that way, but it's a lot more challenging.
