European Stamps claims to have pictures of nearly 80% of all postage stamps issued in Europe. But if you're searching for an image of what is perhaps the world's most valuable stamp, often referred to as 'Philately's Greatest Error', you'd best look elsewhere. Like here, specifically.

For a better picture of Three-Skilling Yellow and well as a picture of British Guiana Penny Magenta (both mentioned by the second link), see “These stamps are the legends of the hobby.”

Remember the "Inverted Jenny on the Absentee Ballot" story from last year?

and, because of a horrible mistake on the part of the stamp’s printer, a handful of the 3-skilling-banco issue were printed in yellow instead of the normal green ink.

I'm glad that stamp collectors aren't given to hyperbole.

But then again I've spent a lot of time trying to decide whether to paint the generator on my tractor green or black, so I'm not one to talk.

Yeah, their definition of "Europe" seems extremely limited. Apparently formerly Communist countries were written out of the continent.

Indeed, I got all excited because in around, I dunno, 1998 or something, they were issuing zodiac-themed stamps in Poland (I think) and I really wanted some, because I remember liking the design, though I no longer remember what they looked like, but I didnt have enough money to both buy a bunch of souvenir stamps and get out of Poland (or wherever I was). Alas, no Poland from this site. It is super cool however. Thanks.
