Go Home Productions went home

Watford's Mark Vidler, better known as Go Home Productions, has been taking other people's tracks and making new and alternately-great-and-disturbing tracks with them for the last five years or so. Within the community of people who make and follow this style of music, he's a giant. Now, however, Vidler's apparently done with the mashup scene for the time being and moving on to other things. As a parting gift, he's making every single mix he's ever released, and a couple of dozen more besides, available in a veritable avalanche of .rar archives.

Oh my God. Go Home Productions was one of my favorite studios of the mash-up craze. This is fucking SWEET.

Going to take a while to download all those from a filehost. I've got ghpcd01.rar, if someone can point me to somewhere to upload it. Anyone else?

Lucinda sent me the mefi link with no additional comment, and I thought "Oh shit, Mark Vidler's dead????"

Sweet.

I've got the retrospective album, parts one and two, if you want to avoid rapidshare. If someone would be so kind as to collect everything else and bit torrent it (or just put it somewhere other than rapidshare), I'd appreciate it.

Sorry, that should be one and two.

Christ, rapidshare? gluh.

Yeah. The links are already boned. I only got CD2 part 1.

Needs more BitTorrent.

Thanks loads, genghis and phrontist. I NEED this.

torrent file for retrospective CD at bottom of page (part 1 only, couldn't get part 2 to DL)

also, this is my first time creating a torrent file, I may have borked it. I don't know what a "tracker" is so didn't enter any.

Wow, this is awesome. It's going to take the rest of my life downloading this from rapid(hah!)share but I'm gonna persevere.

It's late here, and I need to go to bed, dear God, I have to go to bed, but listen: this is worth it for 'Sexual High' alone. I swear, that one song makes the entire Internet worth it.

Okay, I broke down and paid for two days of RapidShare downloads.

I set up a mirror that will (hopefully) stay up through the weekend but please keep it mefi-only.

What's the total opposite of a . ?

This is a bit of a . moment for me. Seems to have a "last days of disco" air about it. GHP DJing at bAsTaRd provided some of my greatest nights out ever, and the mashup scene has been one of the only music scenes I felt truly engaged with, since I was a teenager anyway. He will be much missed, though these downloads will assuage the grief.

Holy crap folks. You're destroying my server. I'm going to have to take the mirror down if the traffic doesn't taper off soon.

TORRENT.

Ditto on the *wow*, I have a dozen or so GHP tracks on my MP3 player and my work computer.... people actually stop when they pass my cube and go all "WTF is that?" and I pass on links to random mashup sites.

djeo, awesome and many thanks...

boo_radley, your torrent works, but was slow :). I downloaded from djeo and I'm seeding as much as possible.

to anybody else... I'm a BT user, but don't know crap about creating files and trackers and such. But I have djeo's mirror and if somebody creates a torrent, I'll seed on a .EDU bitchin' fast connection as long as possible.

Mark is indeed the king of the mashup scene. One of the few who has actually been able to turn it into commercial success. Oh and he's a great guy too. :)
