A taste of Nostalgia... while it's not really an informative MeFi posted link, the list of commercials brings back memories. It's too bad there aren't any clips. Are any of these familiar to you?

This should be familiar stuff but at my age I have trouble remembering my real name and when I got stopped for a traffic ticket I told the cop my name was Postroad.

Budweiser Light (not Bud Light)
With the tag line "Bring out your best" - very 1984 L.A. Olympics theme heavy.

That was Michelob Light, duh!

Hardly heard of any of these. Perhaps you're on Meridian - I only get Carlton.

Actually, It was Budweiser Light, the web site was correct. Michelob had that annoying....."Here's to good times.....Tonight is kinda special...." thing going.......
You can download the audio ( no video, does anyone know where to get these clips?) here

That's the most times the word "Michelob" has ever appeared on MetaFilter, and it's all in one thread! Congratulations!

I want to know what the hell this is:

"American Dental Association
Captain Cursefield on a ship, and a couple alligator pirates with southern accents jumped aboard. "Ahoy! Captain Cursefield! Hand over the tray-sure. (sees dental floss in the treasure chest) Why, this ain't no treasure!" "Wrong you are, lads!" Capt. Cursefield then goes on a bit about floss, then wraps the alligators up in it and throws them off the ship, saying "But don't go overboard!""

I particularly like the casual way it says "a coupla alligator pirates"...and just in case "alligator pirates" was a little was a little too vague for you, they're the kind "with southern accents", which is I guess why they say TRAY-sure.

Maybe the page author just dreamed it. Wait a minute. Maybe everyone's dreaming the captain Cursefield dream but me?! I just keeping having this one about a snake wearing a vest rolling out a big donut. That and the Walking Dude in Vegas.

I didn't read far enough to see if it appeared, but I much prefer "Louis the Lifeguard" who has been known, on occasion, to rescue a drowning potato or two.

surreally

To me, Michelob reeks of the 70s, not the 80s. It was the preferred beer of couples in fern bars, getting sloshed and making out while listening to Carol Bayer Sager and Karla Bonoff albums.
