Just when you think people can't get any stupider, they go and believe something like this. If you thought the "Christopher Reeve walking" ad was real, you need to turn off your TV and pick up a book. Oh, and please don't have any offspring either (just trying to help speed the process of evolution a bit :).

Christopher is a very brave bloke....I'm rooting for him big time, and I hope he gains some movement in his legs someday.

I kind of know what it's like to not to be able to walk...I've spent some time in a wheelchair due to surgery on my left hip. I'll be in one again in the future - I'll need a hip replacement in 8 years, when I'm 30 - arthritis, caused by other problems with the hip.

I know from my own experiences with medicine that it is advancing and chaning all the time - I've been told that currently I'll need a hip replacement every 10 years, but by the time I'm 50 I'll probably need only a couple, due to advancements in medical research.

So if my situation can improve then I'm sure Christophers will.
