enh. i don't really understand why that needed to be filmed in slow-motion.
the first of her videos is somewhat more interesting, but i've still seen, uh, "harder, better, faster, stronger" dancing filmed at full speed.

Well, she seems to be having a good time and getting some exercise and isn't torturing small animals to do it.
Where'd I put my damn spectacles. Oh, here they are, on my nose. Are those kids on my lawn, again?

I was hoping they'd done this in really slow motion and we'd see that sun make significant transit. That'd be something.

I can believe the video was tweaked a little to make her look more robotic, but either they have extremely m4d video editing sk1llz or it's mostly just her, at regular speed.
Also, I'm going to demand she wear the hat at our wedding.

The 'Hand' version of 'harder, better, faster, stronger' is pretty nice too. (It's on the YouTube page).
I didn't realize this was fun per se, I assumed it was making a greater comment about the fragility of our existence in the face of growing industrialisation that is at once bringing a commodity-centric variety of convenience and ease to our lives yet robbing us of the very things that at the same time make being alive, especially outside of cities (and by this I mean clean air and earth and sky) such a valuable and beautiful, profound, really if you just open your eyes, experience.
Hence, her hat.

What makes you believe this wasn't shot at something like a factor of two and then framedropped or otherwise cranked down to realtime? There is an abruptness to her movements that argues pretty damned strongly toward the slowmo argument, to the point where I don't see how arguing against it makes sense unless there's something compelling I'm missing.

Those birds are not flying at regular speed. They film her dancing to a slower beat, or a slowed down version of the song, then speed it back up and lay down normal speed audio.

Oh, somehow I read "a factor of two" as "a factor of two hundred". Could be double speed, I guess. Hard to say without knowing how far away the birds are.

No, it's sped up. Look at the waves on the ocean behind her, advancing toward shore. (Which is what kept me watching the video, with the sound down.) (The hat makes her look like a q-tip.)

Note: When I rewatched this video at home it had lost 90% of its charm. I think part of that was due to darkness (I can't seem to boost the bright on my CRT) and part was due to worse sync.

Time lapse, rather than slow-mo. Slow motion filming takes more frames per second, time lapse fewer. The girl was dancing in slow motion (say about half speed) which combined with the time lapse filming (half the frames per second played back at normal speed) gives her somewhat regular movement. Everything in the background is then double speed. You can see some of the birds flitting very quickly across the water. The boats and waves would have been moving about half their apparent speed. To create this effect, you'd have her dance to any song that was half the speed of the song you used on the film track.

Not liking this new video so much as the Faster-Better one, but:
She is awesome.
That is all.
No... wait - there's more:
It's a real shame she lives in Ireland (as opposed to "just down the street from here") :-)

I also like how she does her cool thing on Youtube, but keeps her privacy (her face not sufficiently visible for recognition) in a way that doesn't diminish the video. If she DID live just down the street, I probably wouldn't know it
...unless I saw her at a local club on the dancefloor, and then I'd know in an instant...
...providing someone had secretly slipped some drug into my drink that altered my perception of time :-)
