Dave Barry caught by the long arm of the law. The Pulitzer-winning humorist, who every year around this time puts out a column bemoaning income taxes, just found out he's being audited. Coincidence?

I think Dave Barry is one of the most entertaining writers of the past 40 years. Every Thursday I head over to the Miami Herald and read the new column. This one caught me off guard, because it dealt with my line of work.

Of course, being audited hardly means being caught doing something wrong. It's also possible that he's making this up (see the article's date), but I doubt it. He probably just won the audit lottery (everybody's got around a 1% chance, nowadays).

Not a coincidence. We all bemoan income taxes this time of year but we don't all get audited. It's like blaming drowning on swimming. That guy was swimming when he drowned so that musta been the cause of it. ..or something. Don't mind me. I'm going through withdrawl.

I actually thought that drowning was the result of a lack of swimming. At least effective swimming...

Obligatory thread comment: I think like Dave Barry, so why can't I write like him... ....
