Skarabej is an online museum of old family photographs from all over the world. Thousands of them. Some are creepy, others depressing and then a few happy ones to break it up a bit.

Well, that pretty much describes my entire family right there.

Happy? I don’t want to get into a whole thing here but what’s with the Captain there on the left with the weird nose, vibrating mustchio and leering grin next to the chubby transvestite George Washington and the woman with the space alien antenna on her head next to Angus Young in the school boy outfit on the floor in front of the baker but to the right of the guy who looks happy he’s got a sledgehammer sticking through his leg which is stuck in a golf bag while he’s groping a bleach bottle Bette Davis bookended with the 63 year old Dutch stewardess in white knee highs giving us a panty shot and the braying guy in the back with a crescent moon driven into his skull who looks like he’s riding Babe Ruth in front of him and sharing a moment with Pagliacci who’s got a wristlock on the ballerina who’s got another tutu around her neck and is forcing the over caffeinated guy in the tie off the couch? Only some are creepy?

What is depressing about the "depressing" one?

The two women are clearly happy, and everyone else looks either (A) content, (B) inscrutable due to fake beard, or (C) a little kid who I'm not sure why I should think is depressed.

Nice post, Kattullus. It must be the voyeur/storyteller in me, but I love looking through discarded photos and making up stories about the people in them.

I like the photos that accompany the staff bios.

I agree with Flunkie - that just looks like Xmas in Eastern Europe...
