The 9 Neatest? Where is the tenth?

Or maybe I have no sense of humor, and the article itself is the tenth...

It seems two affectionate snails grace the picture for the "30 Strangest Animal Mating Habits."

When I was, er, five, I think, or six, I went hiking and found two snails. I put them both in my hand, being the kind of kid I was, and watched them crawl around. They mated. I remember being... confused, but fascinated.

I guess I expected 10 articles selected from various publications, not Neatorama's favorites of their own articles of the last year. Oh well.

The 9 Neatest? Where is the tenth?

The World’s Weirdest Moths and the World’s Weirdest Insects are two different links.

So, I must say that I'm just pleased as punch that the RCC captured 6 of the 10 spots in the churches list.

I must be web-clueless, but I was hoping it would be a list of articles that were grammatically the tightest in 2007. Or the tidiest with their references, etc.

Ooo, references!

I like this post, but I have to admit that all the exclamation marks in the articles make me feel like I'm reading an issue of Weekly Reader. "Check out this argonaut! His penis DETACHES! Your dad's pretty cool, but even he can't do that!"

Golly gee, this is keen, thanks!

Seriously, check out the article on the top tombs. It's my favorite of the bunch.

This is a pretty neat article.

In 1861, Monaco relinquished half of its territory to France in exchange for cash and independence. When the reigning prince realized that most of Monaco’s natural resources were on the land that got bartered away[...]

In 1918, Monaco entered a treaty with France for military protection - the treaty, however, also stipulated that Monaco would lose its independence (and become French) should the reigning Grimaldi prince died without leaving a male heir!

Someone should advise those Monegasque princes to start reading the fine print.

Oh, also, I didn't know Dick Shawn (who played LSD in The Producers) died on-stage.

Thanks, homunculus. I guess that's what one can expect from a busy proofreader on a Monday afternoon. Is it Friday yet?

I really liked the tree article.

Neat.

The baobab trees in the tree article were stupendous, as were the aerial roots of the banyan tree.

Well, I did not previously know that the banana slug has a penis the size of the rest of its body. Personally I'm quite happy not to have to carry a 5'9" penis around.

I really enjoy the 30 Weirdest Deaths. Death by beard is pretty damn awesome.

(Also: I heard that Tycho Brahe did indeed die from holding it in, but that it wasn't during a banquet, but rather because he wouldn't get up from his work.)

(I always knew that this piece of trivia would come in handy someday.)
