Love in a bottle -- the new herbal drink from Sweden named Niagara apparently works almost as well as its rhyme. [X-rated account of beta test.]

The article also goes into marketing arcana, such as the so-far limited distribution and boutique marketing, leading to offers of up to $1000/bottle. With publicity like this, they're going to need domestic bottling stat. Why? Well, inside of three weeks from publication, the movie rights were sold. To Julia Roberts ... and Adam Sandler.

I can see the theme song now:
Pretty woman
had a lil' blue drink
Pretty woman
you smell like a mink

You know, someone wrote a song about this many years ago. I believe it's called, "Funky Cold Medina".

...and you get to see what appears to be Mother Mary on the bilboard next to the store where you buy it.

Last month Good Morning America did an unscientific study with this. They handed out this to four sets of couples who were on the studio audience. None of the four pairs reported any benefits from the drink. It was just funny to see Diane Sware conduct the "research." One gentleman said, "we drank the water, and did things that you can't mention on a family show. but, we didnt see any benefits."

I read the article a few weeks ago, and I thought it was pretty well-written -- I can only imagine what total crap a Hollywood version of it would be. I'm thinking a dumbed-down, romance comedy version of Chocolat (which wasn't even that great to begin with).

I think it's got all the makings of a porn movie myself ;-)

I'm working on a sexy, exotic romance screenplay myself, where couples are transported to a world of surreal pleasure by a tasty treat.

I'm calling it Placebo.

A local (Seattle) radio station will be talking to the regional distributor of the stuff on the air tomorrow morning and providing listeners with bottles to "beta test" over the weekend, for a full report on Monday.
