OGC --- Dutch TV host behaving inappropriately

A spokesman for OGC said: “It is true that it caused a few titters among some staff when viewed on its side, but on consideration we concluded that the effect was generic to the particular combination of the letters OGC - and it is not inappropriate to an organisation that’s looking to have a firm grip on Government spend.”

That made my morning.

I thought it was titters that caused staff

That spokesperson is a genius. A firm grip, indeed. Giving rise (ahem) perhaps to their catchphrase for the 2008 Spring Drive: "Get a Firm Grip on This"

"Welcome to the Offfice of Government Commerce. If you'll kindly turn you head to the side, you'll notice that we're jerking off on your face. Please proceed to the Office of Epic Lulz, two doors down on the left."

A firm grip...

Heh.

OGC now has a staff of 564 with a head office in Norwich

OK.

They’re going to get more column inches than they could ever have expected before.

Well, now you're just being gratuitous.

Here's an old post with a lot of regrettable logos.

Kind of a tempest in a teapot.

Or, if you turn the Metafilter logo on its side, then reverse it and change it into a bitmap, and then look at the resulting logo while squinting and drinking a beer after watching a Flesh Flick on Fleshbot, it looks like a plate of beans overthinking itself.

The Register claims to have a picture of the moment at which London design outfit FHD revealed the revised brand frontage to the HM Treasury tentacle's staff.

At first I didn't get what was so scandalous. I'm glad the Telegraph did the work for me of turning the logo on its side... Then I LOL'd.

It's really hard to see how this cockup is getting such a rise out of everyone.

Could somebody explain the dinosaur comic connection? I don't get it.

Thank you,

No, no, no ... this is [self-] abuse. You want room 12A, just along the corridor.

If I remember Omnivore's Dilemna correctly, this was done on purpose.

Wow...it took me awhile to figure out the issue here. It was like one of those magic eye things; I finally see the schooner. And it's touching itself.

Even without turning the logo on its side, I'm still wondering why a government agency's logo so closely resembles that of a fox tv show about the attractive angst of developmentally precocious wealthy teenagers.

Omnivore's Dilemna
That's going on a t-shirt

Also, this does not trump the TIA's pyramid logo

sorry. really.

Usually I'm the first to spot something sexual, but I didn't see it in the OGC logo even when it was turned sideways. I had to read the last panel of that comic to even get what it was supposed to look like. Then when I looked back at the logo, it still doesn't look that much like it to me.
