Male geeks have more sex than the average Joe. Are they simply lonely liars determined to screw up a survey or is this a natural evolution of an IT industry constantly on edge?

It has got to be lies. If you could hear the dorks I work around belly-aching about getting none.... you'd understand that it's just lies.

108 times a year....holy crap. I only wish I got half that, if not a quarter. To preserve my ego, I must believe this to be lies.

That's only twice a week and maybe a sly shag on birthdays and anniversaries. Seems reasonable.

Just remember: "Jocks only think about sports, nerds only think about sex."

You beat me to it, harmful!

The proliferation of pr0n on the internet presumably indicates that most respondents don't consider that sex requires another person to be present.. ;-)

I'm with hmgovt. this figure doesn't seem like a whole lot. I must have been the one that brought the average up.

I see your point. So geeks who get incredibly lucky with 3 or 4 girls at the same time ( or, to be politically correct, 3 or 4 guys) might end up with a score card of 25 points for the day. What qualifies as a point? What if...
This is all screwed up. I am going to start marking mine down. I will let you all know this time next year.

An important technicality, ed. According to Sting, it would be possible to have a year long Tantrigasm, but this would only count as one coupling. Also, spitroasting involves three people - is this one, two or three acts of sexual intercourse? Blowjobs, handshandies, shitblistering, frottage - where do they fit in?

wow. That last sentence was simply the most disgusting thing I have ever heard.
Hurl a Colon donut with me, anyone?

I'd be willing to believe that nerds have more sex. Well... maybe not the most sex or whatever, but more than most people think.

Think about what online personals sites are. Basically, a bunch of nerds looking for people (ostensibly, other nerds) to have sex with. The internet has seriously boosted the number.

... "shitblistering?" What an interesting sex life.

The Register article didn't say whether the respondents were single or married. I bet they're married, or getting as little as me. ;-)

This is one of the three things in HTML I actually can do. My shining moment.

Well, all I can say after reading this article is... "at least I have an excuse now."

I dunno, seems really low to me... <grin>

I'm happy to know I'm doing my part in keeping that average down as low as it is.

I actually looked up what 'shitblistering' is. I wish I hadn't.

Wow, I can't imagine how much some geeks get to have sex... I must pull the average WAY down.

Of course, I'm not 23 yet... which means I have an excuse...

I have no excuse; I'm just antisocial.

I found this extremely amusing, I sent the link to my boyfriend :) It didn't mention whether female nerds are rampant sex machines, though.

Extremely valid point.. maybe the females are skewing the results in a serious way... (suddenly I miss my ex more....)
