It's kind of weird, but i love that they're onto something that was totally hot and awesome a couple years back and are now getting around to exploiting it.

Something tells me these are fan made ads. (If such a thing actually exists for a company like McD's)

Line Rider sold out, man.

Nope, i saw one on TV last night. It took me a few seconds but I was all "WTF, is that line rider?". Then they showed the linerider URL and the "M" logo.

Um, why do I care?

Not to be snarky, but what is a "line rider" and how does it relate to Big Macs, diabetes, or deforestation?

Thanks for all the Focus links!

Nope. Check out Line Rider's homepage.

Just to add to the Focus links: Jan Akkerman's website.

joelf, that's business as usual at McDonald's. They also shine at co-opting tired popular phrases and using them in hilariously wrong ways.

holy crap anthill, I'd never seen that guy's stuff.
I need to re-evaluate my scale, because I'm clearly worse at doing that line-rider thing than I previously thought.

Trying to capture the fat geek demographic, I see - as if McDonalds even had to try. If the wrappers flowing out of the trash are any indication, that clown had the IT department at hello.

I had completely forgotten about that game, I heard "line rider" and hoped it was some kind of cocaine reference, something really edgy to compete with Burger King's new stuff.

McDonald's: Snort that Shit!

McDonald's: It Makes Your Gums Numb Like Coke, But It's Legal.

McDonald's: Pure Cut Peruvian. (beef).

'Wrong'? I highly dispute the idea that a) MD's ad people didn't know that 'I'd hit it' was about sex and b) they were opposed to relating their product with said sex.

I love how both commercials showcase McDonald's "healthy" foods, such as water, a wrap, and yogurt. You know, the stuff on the menu that nobody orders.

Dr-Baa is not aware of the enormous popularity of Hamburglar/Grimace slash fiction, I guess.

The forthcoming Line Rider game looks totally lame. Where the hell is the LINE? It's not "lame-ass snow rider." And Adorable Sledding Guy can't fall off the sled?!?! They totally abandoned their hard-core constituency. Notice that even McD's didn't use the new LR engine.

Whoa, for a minute I thought, "The guy who rides trains sold out? To McDonalds?!"

Whew! It was only that animated stuff. Yeah, now that makes sense. If that's a problem, warning: Kindom Hearts is next!

Linerider ≠ Train Surfer, and I am loving it!

hocus pocus rocks, but it was a shame to see it first on the blue to the tune of a mcdonalds ad.

Forget the Line Rider angle....

Hocus Pocus by Focus, in a McDonalds ad? Since we're mashing memes, my head asplode.

yeti: This is a "hand-drawn" stage, so evidently the lines are still in it somewhere.

And he did fall off in the video, I think the course designer actually saved him; the sled and the kid met each other through the physics engine and he got back on.

I do hope there's a way to turn off the "whooooaaa" sound effects.
