I got an 80. You have to be pretty quick.

Sys Rq: "Kills Firefox :("

Ouch. Works great on my add-on, greasemonkey script laden installation of FF. Sorry about that.

It looks really fun, FWIW.

Yes, sweet, sweet crashy goodness. And incorrect results tabulation.

Kills Firefox :(

Killed mine too, until I disabled AdBlock Plus.

I have the strangest urge to get my VISA card and head over to iTunes.
Why is that?

Working fine for me in Firefox/Mac, with Adblock enabled. Fun stuff.

I dragged a cover image all the way to the first correct square. It took some doing I can tell you. Then the game ended. Now I shall rest.

(works fine for me on Firefox on XP)

I thought it was kinda hard, but then again I don't know anything about music. I ended up squinting at the album cover thumbnails and trying to read the text more than anything. :/

Dragged three covers to squares. Tried to correct one square by dragging correct album cover over old incorrect album cover, wouldn't let me, insisted I take the old one out first. Then after filling in three correct squares, gave me "0 correct" and would not show me what the correct matrix looked like. Fail Sequence Complete.

Well. Glad I'm not the only one who can't get the thing to work. Disable Adblock? Sir, you offend me!

Would be a lot more fun without the timer. And never loads in Safari for me. Firefox/Mac works.

People still buy music that comes in a case? With a "cover"?

It's fun, but I seem to spend so much time reading the titles before making matches that I fail before I begin.
I know, the answer is:
READ FASTER, YOU ILLITERATE FUCK
posted by Dr-Baa at 9:33 AM on June 17, 2008

Well, no — the answer is actually that the game is supposed to be about figuring out which albums are which without necessarily relying (entirely) on reading the tiny text on each cover! That's why the timer is essential to making this fun — without a time limit, you could scrutinize each cover at your leisure, and/or scoot over to Amazon/Allmusic/Wikipedia/Google to check your work before submitting.

It sucked up about 45 minutes of my morning before I knew what was happening. But I'm pretty good at it. I think it's a skill you only acquire if you've spent hundreds of hours flipping through the "New Arrivals" racks in every genre at a variety of used-vinyl scores from coast to coast. The ones that tripped me up were generally albums released well into the CD era; there's just not as much image retention with a five-inch CD booklet as with a beautiful 12-inch LP sleeve.

It would be better with more time and blurred-out titles, imo.

Plus, what am I supposed to do with two Houses of the Holy and only one space for them?

Killed Firefox. This is happening more and more lately.

Oh, God, I'm old. I would have said "sleeve," with a "plastic liner."

too fast. got 5 correct on expert but 4 unanswered. cool find though, thanks.

It's too bad they don't give you extra points for having time left over.

On Electronic/Dance expert I am getting 7-9 right, pretty consistently. And now I feel compelled to go spend an hour and $120 at my local used music store. :(

I did something like this a while ago, but I actually obscured the titles. The way I did it, they were like bingo cards and you had to guess five in a row or column.

I put them up in a forum and gave $10 to anyone who could get a bingo. Google, etc allowed. They're still up if anyone is interested:

Album Cover Bingo 1
Album Cover Bingo 2
Album Cover Bingo 3

You know what I miss? Liner notes.

Sorry, Joey Bagels, I guess I wasn't very clear. I meant the text under the blank spots where each album should go.
