Looking at those I'm even more convinced that Uncle Junior has achieved that generic-old-man look. There are just so many old guys who look like him.

I have to say something that's been bothering me for some time.

The Sopranos sucks.

My main problem with the show is that the new season is chock full o' product placements. It began with the season opener, with blatant plugs for Dunkin Donuts and Office Max (the most blatant of all) and went downhill from there. Now, besides the "bend over for easy access" ad policy from the show's producers, there's way too much self-indulgent shooting, the scripts have gone downhill, and the hype is suffocating.

Given the show's success, was it really necessary for the licensing goons at HBO to find yet another revenue stream by selling ad space on a premium cable television series? Don't the show's viewers already pay enough money to watch the damned show without having to sit through more ads in the relentless quest for profit maximization? Guess not.

Don't get me wrong, the first time I saw the show is when I rented the first season's videos late last year, so I am not one of these OG, been-there-from-the-beginning-and-it's-way-too-popular-for-me-now hipsters. The first two seasons were great. Good dialogue, acting, and story line. In fact, I got an l33t digital cable package (from having no TV at all) with the express purpose of watching the show.

Well, I'm taking the cable box back next week and good riddance to the damned thing.
