I got two actual cat. One painting with a cat in it. A hotel's "Pet Menu". And a little girl wearing a hard hat. No idea what's up with the last.

Cute.

rickroll... I got cattails.

Meh. I know for a fact that there are cats closer than that.

Wow, all five of mine were actual kitties. Cute ones!

I got one cat who was in a parade once which passed near my house. The rest seemed legit.

I'm near this little kitty. Normally I don't support declawing, but in this case...

Cats, I am near
Fish, fear me

I got a scan of a cat on a cat-of-the-day calendar, a real cat, a dead cat (pictured whilst alive), a sad cat, and a stray cat.

One of mine was in Cameroon. I think my cat is outsourcing her expensive-leather-chair-destroying activities.

It did not pull up my three cats, who I assure you are definately near where I live.

How do you add stuff? Can you add stuff?

I get unexpected results.

I am trying to location-tag my cats, but Flickr is not cooperating. This is disappointing.

I got 5 cats, though one was an lolcat.
posted by Mr_Zero at 1:50 PM on September 11, 2008

Have you tried hiding the tag inside some raw meat?
posted by Artw at 1:51 PM on September 11, 2008 [7 favorites]

My older cat won't eat raw meat. He won't even eat sushi-grade tuna. Nothing but the finest kibble will satisfy his palate.
posted by uncleozzy at 1:59 PM on September 11, 2008

You idiot! If the dogs get hold of this, there will be felicide, and it will be your fault.

Our only hope is that they input something in the address field like "big shelter food boy food boy tree my pee my pee my pee."

I generally smear the tags on the forepaws and let the cat lick them off.

Well, I guess it's a cat
posted by hellojed at 2:21 PM on September 11, 2008

Well, that was a bit creepy. I got a photo I took two years ago of my friend's cat, a photo of some cat-based stencil graffiti at the end of my road, and a photo of a girl called Cat, who I met at a party a couple of months ago.

iamnear is a pretty great site, though. I used its pubs feature when I had an afternoon to kill in Cardiff, and hope to one day to find a use for its megaliths option.

Artw: I got the exact same results. We must be neighbors!

I'll have to keep my eyes out for this cat.

I got four cats and a drawing of Itchy and Scratchy. One cat's name was Avocado, and I thought, "Jeepers, that's a long name for a cat," but then I realized they don't come when you call them anyway.

It worked for me. I have 4 cats but none of them are "available" for this. I should play, I guess.

I'm pretty certain this isn't a cat
posted by kumonoi at 3:22 PM on September 11, 2008

It didn't show me the closest cat, who is about to get poked right...now.

ow.

I got a couple of real cats, a drunken drawing that included a cat, and two cat statues in the British Museum, which is indeed very close to me. But one of the British Museum cat photographers seems to have been a bit confused as to where the museum is on a map.

I thought this and this were incorrect, at first.

Here's one I don't need jumping on my lap.

This is very cool, thanks for posting.

I'm about to move and would like to know if there are cat owners around in the new locale who might be able to feed my cat while away and I'd be happy to do the same for them.

One for dogs may even be of greater use. I like walking a dog once in a while and I have a friend who would love to walk a dog on a semi-regular basis.

An app that did dogs might allow us to help someone with a dog and help us.

Every time I hear the HP printer fire up at the neighborhood computer lab I supervise, I do the exact same thing.

Finally, something that makes me want to geotag my photographs.
posted by saturnine at 5:05 AM on September 12, 2008

This is the cat nearest to me. This one is six inches to the left of the other cat.

One cat's name was Avocado, and I thought, "Jeepers, that's a long name for a cat," but then I realized they don't come when you call them anyway.

My cat's name is Wensleydale and she does know her name. She will respond when you call her, though sometimes she will look at you and then shun you. She does acknowledge that you are speaking to her, it's just sometimes, she doesn't give a fuck.

A hotel's "Pet Menu"

I got one of those, too. Mayhaps we are in the same neighborhood?
posted by grapefruitmoon at 5:22 AM on September 12, 2008

Pretty sure this isn't a cat.
posted by grateful at 7:13 AM on September 12, 2008

My cats come when I call them. I figure the reason other people's cats don't is because the cats don't like them much.
