Gravel Road Requiem

Gravel Road Requiem hits the spot. In Scott's May 14th posting he discusses then links to an amazing song, which he wrote and recorded. This was a nice gentle way to break into my day.
Not bad. A good demo. A little machine hum in there... Good voice, pleasant composition, good lyrics... That drum track maybe could be a duller thump (that's all digital percussion, right?)... The song could rock on stage with a full band...

Wow...great stuff. As someone who listens mostly to singer-songwriters and subscribes to Dirty Linen, this fits in quite well. I wonder if they have signed to a label yet - they'd be a good candidate for Rounder. I need to go listen to Walkingbirds other songs.

Well, "they" would be Scott. I worked a little with Scott when he lived in Cleveland - we did 2 years with the Cleveland Shakespeare Festival together. I saw him perform once with his partner, but I think that now since he's moved to SF, he's kind of on his own, music-wise. And no, as far as I know, he has not signed to a label. He could tell you better if he would stop lurking here and just post, dammit! :) Love you, Scott.
