Galcon is a more sophisticated version of the same basic concept. It requires a download. They want money after a while, but you don't actually have to ever pay if you're content with the basic mode, though there are a ton of other game modes which may or may not be worth the twenty dollars they're asking for the full version.

All I know is I've wasted a lot of time on the classic mode over the last few weeks. A lot.

Oh, right, it has multiplayer, too. Which would be fascinating, I'm sure, if I had a decent ping.

A bit easy but yeah, lots of fun. Reminded me of Galcon quite a bit too.

It's neat. Speed seems to be a good bet.

But it's got a fatal flaw. The physics allows some of the opponent's phages to go "off screen," and there seems to be no way to drag the camera, infect them or win by any other means.

Reminds me of Dyson.

oddman, that hasn't happened to me. The cells bounce off the walls for me.

Seems heavily influenced by Nano Wars, although this one is a lot less challenging.
