Unclear on the Concept

Over four years of "Mr. Boffo" strips lay in Joe Martin's directories, waiting for you to read them -- as panels, strips, and Sundays. (Don't bother with the rest of his site; it's a mess.)

The freaky thing is how Mr. Boffo's wacky and wry humor comes from the same pen as freakin' Willy and Ethel. I mean, wow, Willy's fat and lazy, Ethel's fat and shrewish, they don't really like each other. It's about as innovative as Garfield. And then every time I see Boffo it's even better than I remember it. What gives?

Also, it's lie. Present tense, intransitive.

(This English major, unclear on the concept.) Also, I am in total agreement: quantity doesn't equal quality. Martin hits it on the head in every Mr. Boffo; he swings and misses everywhere else. For serious cringing, check out the animated Mr. Boffo on the main site. No, wait, don't. It's really bad. Stick with the strips.

Having just read the comic for the first time, you're sure you're thinking of the right comic?

Is there a quick "too much information" comic I can link to, here?

How about "Too Little, Too Late"?
(The search function on the Boffo site seems to have comics from Jan-Sept 2005.)

Not_on_display, why do you have an inside view of what I'm thinking about posting at any given moment? Are you a mutant? do we have the same dealer?Do you have tracking software on my laptop? Are we secretly the same person? Long Lost brothers? Quantum twins from an alternate dimension?

What I'm saying is , GET OUT OF MY HEAD!

also, nice post

I wish I could find my favorite:

I'm not gonna argue that every Boffo is a masterpiece. He has off days like everyone does. But I ran across a book collection just a couple weeks ago, and oh how it made me miss it.

The experience may be a little different getting each strip in an eyeful, at the proper size and resolution, versus getting them slowly one at a time in huge TIFFs. Maybe a little.
