Liverpool win the cup triple. It's the kind of thing bring a tear to your eye even if you're an Evertonian. I always said Golden Goals were a great idea.

I know what ya mean. I aint into footy but it's great to see everyone around me looking so happy. It's gotta be good for all in this area no matter who they support. I bet certain Man U fans will go on about that 'own goal' for eternity tho. They'll wont mention tha fact that the bloke only headed it cuz three Liverpool players were perfectly placed to stick it so far in tha back of the net that they woulda needed a map and compass to get it out.

You can also bet that the local news in the north west will give a Livepool story its usual three minutes as opposed the half hour they always set aside if Man U win anything.

A hearty congratulations to all the Mefiers that pull for Liverpool. This is indeed a good day for the team and their fans. (Some of us on the other side of the pond do recognize that.)

What a game too...

- 5-4 in overtime
- Liverpool blow two 2-goal leads
- tied up in the 89th minute
- an own goal decides it 3 minutes from penalties.

Wow.

What a great match. My mother has a soft spot for Liverpool, having supported the team of Hughes, Smith and others in 1977, and she was "oohno"-ing right through the last hour.

Kudos to Alaves, though, for turning what looked like a stroll into one of the few European cup competitions where the final lives up (and beyond) its billing.

Oh, and since Middlesbrough took 4 out of 6 points from Liverpool this season, does that restore some respect to our atrocious season? Um, no.

And what's great, I think, is that the two competitions which have, if you believe the critics, been undermined by the bloated "Champions" League -- the FA Cup and the UEFA Cup -- have shown their worth in finals to remember.

Bastards! Bastards! I spend the whole day avoiding any type of sports websites because I can't see the game until 11PM EST and it gets ruined by MeFi. I hate the web, I hate the web.

Thank you very little.

Yeah, well if you ruin the Super 12 for me I'll have to find you all and wring your little necks.

Go Brumbies!

/me makes it his business to find out what a Super 12 is and invests in a Spam-mailing device. Oh hang on, it's Rugby?.. Takes it all back and buys a neck brace just incase. Gulp.
